Tried tying up and fly boots. Did well with tying, but does not care for the fly boots.

This little guy has decided the lead rope is not such a scary thing. Even ventured out of his normal pen to the round pen. Bonus video of last years mustang Spirit playing with her ball.

Spirit loves to be with Kylie. Hard to believe she was a wild horse sometimes. She has become a pretty amazing and gorgeous horse.

Hard to believe Spirit was the same size as Lightening a year ago. They love to visit each other through the fence.

Lightening made lots of progress today. He decided it was ok to be haltered, brushed, and fly sprayed. He even shared some kisses with Kylie.

Kylie had a set back with Lightening, but he is coming around. Haven’t been able to get a halter back on him, but is close. He finally allowed her to brush him though!

Kylie picked out her mustang today. This will be her 2nd year participating in the WHYC. She is off to a great start with this little c**t. She was able to get him to come to her and get a halter on him.

Almost been a year since I went to pick up Spirit. It’s been incredible to watch her growth since I got her.

Spirit has had a couple of busy days. She got to go to a 4-h meeting Monday night and to a preschool today. Kylie and Spirit got to show off all their hard work a little.

Spirit went and visited the old 4-h fair grounds tonight as she is going to the 4-h meeting tomorrow. Wanted to check things out before the meeting

Had a great first year experience with the Wild Horse Youth Challenge. What a great organization! Kylie has chosen to adopt Spirit and we are on the way home ❤️🐴. She received a 2nd in Showmanship, 6th in trail, 2nd in freestyle, and 4th overall! She also got an award for best kept stall. Missed some pictures with people who came to support her. Thank you to all our supporters and I hope you continue to follow Spirits journey. Kylie is looking forward to working with future Mustang.

Spirit adjusted and got some time in practice arena. She even decide it was ok to follow Kylie around just by voice command.

Spirit got to spend the day with hundreds of 4th graders today at Kids Ag Day! She did amazing! She didn’t spook once around the different animals, farm equipment, or students. She was very well mannered.
Wild Horse Youth Challenge

Trainer gathering today in Haysville was a great thing for Spirit. It was good to have her around other horses and unfamiliar noises.

Ashley and I Took Spirit and Kylie over to Lyons to use their facility. She did well in the new environment. Not real sure of the wash rack though.

Getting used to fly boots. Starting with front 2 first to allow her to adjust. Also worked on her standing while Kylie braided her hair. Sadly one of the hair bands broke.

Few morning pictures. Videos are not wanting to load. Spirit was not a huge fan of lunge line or a bath, but we worked through them and she slowly became more comfortable. Big thanks to our neighbor/friend Ashley for the guidance she provides Kylie.

Sorry we have been bad about getting stuff posted. She has been working on showmanship skills and starting to work on things for free style. Spirit loves to follow Kylie around. It’s been so hot, she has been working with her later which makes for terrible pictures.
