Great Falls Equestrian, LLC Coming soon--Great Falls Equestrian! And they are thrilled to still have Sharon on board, continuing to teach students as well.

Situated on over 30 acres in the heart of Great Falls, Great Falls Equestrian is a multi-discipline equestrian facility offering top notch training for riders of all levels, and premium care for their horses. Longtime Great Falls residents and horse community standard bearers Sharon and Harry Huber are handing the reins of the facility on Arnon Chapel Road (formerly operated as Deerfield Farm, Gre

at Falls Horse Center, and most recently as the Hubers' Stoneridge Farm) to a new team with Great Falls Equestrian. Wendy Masemer; a top level eventer, lifelong Great Falls inhabitant, and former student of the Hubers; and Lauren Dearlove; a successful trainer specializing in young horses, and formerly a beloved instructor with Great Falls Pony Club; will be taking over and are excited to carry on the long standing tradition of training young riders and fostering a love of horses in the next generation. Wendy and Lauren have a deep background in the hunter, eventing, and dressage worlds, and are proudly welcoming riders of all disciplines and levels to come train with Great Falls Equestrian. They hope to give riders a chance to experience different types of riding and competitions, and to help riders find their passion and pursue their callings.

We were thrilled to all be together at the Turner Farm Events Hunter Show Series Awards Luncheon, both because it’s our favorite hunter show, and it gave us an excuse to all hang out somewhere warm. Our students had a fantastic 2024 show year at Turner and walked away with some pretty impressive results. In no particular order: Mila and Wilson were year end Champions in Horse Pleasure, and 3rd in the Green/Working Hunter; Evie was in the 1st Pony Eq, and she and Casper were 6th in the Pony Hunter; Phoebe and Happy continued their streak, taking home the Champions for Pony Hunter and Pony Pleasure; Judy and Casey took Champion in Short Stirrup Eq, and Reserve in both Short Stirrup Hunter and Pony Pleasure; Savannah and Suzy were Champion in Short Stirrup Hunter, 3rd in Short Stirrup Eq, and 4th in Pony Pleasure; Elizabeth and Otis finished 5th Pony Pleasure and 4th Low Hunter, after only being together for the last two shows; Jack was 3rd in Leadline; and Bennett was Reserve in Long Stirrup Hunter. Great Falls Equestrian and Emily Zentz ended as Series Highpoint Trainer too, a cherry on top. So proud of all of our kids, and excited to do it again next year! Thanks as always to for a lovely day, and another great year of shows. Also, thanks to Kristen, Lee, Lizette, Stella and Gudrun for coming and supporting all our awardees!

Stuart shares our opinion of this weather. One thing they fail to mention when hyping a career in the horse world is that there is no such thing as a snow day when you take care of horses. Please send cocoa and heated blankets!

Hope everyone is staying safe and warm today, preferably using a lap cat.

Calories in between Christmas and New Year’s don’t count, right? Spaghetti has lost track of what day it is, and just polished off her last donut; she is all of us and we are she.

Eleven months later, and Gnocchi has embraced the life of an office manager! Lounging and snuggle therapy sure do beat her past life, although she’d tell you she works very hard.

So excited to get the photographs from the Adequan & United States Dressage Federation Salute Gala and Awards Banquet for all of us who wished we could have been there to cheer Lauren and Parade Field Farm on in person! Here the woman of the hour is (and doesn't she clean up up nicely??), picking up Vector D's and Salsa's Dressage Sport Horse Breeding Horse of the Year awards, and her Breeder of Distinction Silver award. Thanks to The Framed Equestrian for taking these lovely images.

Huge thanks to Dr. Katy and Haymarket Veterinary Service for doing a chiropractic and acupuncture demonstration for our unmounted lesson this month. Our students appreciated it almost as much as Cosette who loved being a part of the demo.

Fantastic news from Houston! Lauren is down at the United States Dressage Federation Annual Convention, and has collected some truly impressive hardware. After earning her Breeder of Distinction Silver Award, Lauren also picked up a Champion for Vector D, the Dressage Sport Horse Breeding Horse of the Year for Two-Year-Old Colts/Geldings, and then for Salsa, Reserve Champion Maiden/Yeld Mare. Lauren is the most deserving, hardest working person we know, and dang does she know how to breed an incredible horse. We could not be more thrilled to watch her finally being given her flowers.
