And just like that… Marley has completed his two week board and train! Marley now has a sit and stay, down and stay, walks on a loose leash with and auto sit and has a recall. We look forward to updates as Marley and his mom continue to work on his training!

Crate games are a great way to introduce a crate to dogs. I am doing this with 2 8 week old puppies but this works just the same for an adult dog. All dogs should be crate trained even if you do not plan on crating your dog. You never know in case of an emergency that your dog might need to be crated. Yesterday I took 12 week old Huxley to the race track. Socialization is so much more then introducing your dog to people and other dogs. It’s sights, smells and sounds. The track has all of those in one. The first loud car was a little scary for him but but the end of the day she was sleeping through it and greeting anything that would show him attention. Having a well rounded dog that you can take everywhere makes your life so much easier!

I wanted to take a second to welcome you to The Perfect Pooch. I am the owner Leah Oswald and I wanted to tell you a little about myself. I have always wanted to work with dogs from a young age. I started my training journey learning under Linda Taylor from Linda Taylor Canine Consultants. I then went on to intern under and eventually become a contract employee under DNA K9. After moving to South Carolina my life took a big change and I opened a boarding facility and transport company for rescue dogs. I have decided to go back to my passion for training while downsizing the boarding and transport side.
