On February 11th, 2025, I got a message from this awesome gentleman, Ken.
His friend had passed away and left behind a 4yo heeler, Cooper, who’d not been able to spend much time out of a crate.

He’d taken him in now and needed help training and integrating him with his own 9yo heeler, Apollo.

We met. I got a gauge on Cooper and like I tell everyone “It does not matter what I can make your dog do, it matters what you can make you dog do”

Cooper would stand in his crate and p*e out of it, also being a heeler, he is bitey.

Like every dog, Cooper needed clarity, structure, boundaries and rules.

Not affection & baby talk.

I cannot over state that working dogs are no joke.

I also cannot overstate that Ken has worked his ass off with Cooper.

He listened to the advice I gave to him.
He took every tool I offered to him.
He took it all in and he did the work.

I received this video this morning, almost a year later, he’s still working as a team with his dog, building trust, building structure, TRAINING.

Training is a lifestyle.
It does not end.

If you see someone utilizing a muzzle on their dogs, withhold your judgement.

They are HEROES.

It could be as simple as a dog that will eat things off the ground, maybe their owner just had a pay a monster vet bill because of that, or maybe the dog is suspicious or fearful. It is a kindness.

Every time I see his name pop up on my phone, I get excited.

He stepped up to the plate for his friend, for both of his dogs and he has knocked it out of the park.

I don’t share nearly enough of stuff like this but it is jet fuel for my soul ❤️

Hey guys, it’s me Merit.
I’m 13 weeks old and 24lbs now.

I’ve slept 12+ hours straight through the night for weeks now. 🙏

I’m learning the names or words associated with the physical positions of my body that get me rewarded like down, sit, come, yes etc

A few times a day before I nap, I get belly rubs and my mom touches every part of my body, in my ears, between my toes, my teeth, my little puppy butt cheeks, everywhere - it tickles and I hate it so much but she says I have to do it. 😔

I have so many friends now, dogs, chickens and people but cats are the most exciting to me. 🐈

My big ears have gotten pretty heavy, but my heart is light and full 🐾 💕
