Pretty much says it all. Glad that people’s opinions didn’t stop us from being purposeful. God doesn’t call us to be ordinary, he calls us to be set apart.
To the one who says purpose-bred mixes ruined the dog world.
You say purpose bred mixes ruined everything.
That they flooded the market.
That they aren’t real dogs.
That they don’t belong.
That they’re “just mutts.”
But you’re not really mad at the dogs.
You’re mad at bad breeding and instead of calling that out, you’re blaming an entire category of dogs.
Any dog can have issues when it’s bred without intention.
Purebred or mixed.
Health problems don’t come from mixing.
They come from carelessness.
You say purpose-bred mixes ruined the dog world.
But I’ve watched them change it.
I’ve watched them sit beside chemo patients.
Walk with veterans through PTSD.
Grow up with toddlers who needed a gentle first best friend.
Bring laughter back into homes that had gone quiet.
Trends don’t do that.
Purpose does.
Families didn’t choose purpose-bred mixes because of hype.
They chose them because they needed
gentle, intelligent, adaptable, family-centered companions that fit real life.
And let’s be honest, purpose-bred mixes aren’t hiding in the shadows of the dog world anymore.
They are reshaping it right in front of us:
- The Goldendoodle: Redefining companion dogs for families everywhere.
- The Labradoodle: Originally developed for service work.
- The Cavapoo: blending companionship with lighter-shedding coats.
-.The Bernedoodle: Emotional-support powerhouses in therapy settings.
- The Aussiedoodle: Intelligence and biddability for active families.
- The Pomsky: Bred for temperament and manageable size.
- The Cockapoo: One of the longest-standing companion mixes in modern breeding.
These dogs aren’t accidents.
They are intentional.
And if you want to call them “mutts,” let’s talk history because many of today’s beloved purebreds were once crosses long before the American Kennel Club ever existed:
- The Golden Retriever began as Yellow Flat-Coated Retrievers × Tweed Water Spaniels.
- The Doberman Pinscher came from Rottweilers × German Pinschers × Greyhounds × Weimaraner’s.
- The Boston Terrier came from Bulldogs × English Terriers.
-.The Great Dane was shaped by Mastiffs × Greyhounds.
Every single breed had a beginning.
Every “pure” dog started as a mix with a mission.
And today, purpose-bred mixes are doing something even bigger:
They are being used to restore health where extreme genetics broke it.
The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel struggles with serious heart and neurological disease and ethical outcross projects are working to give future generations a healthier chance at life.
The French Bulldog often cannot breathe, regulate temperature, or move comfortably and responsible programs are working to return function over fashion.
That isn’t ruining the dog world.
That is protecting its future.
From where I’m standing, purpose-bred mixes didn’t ruin the dog world.
They are changing it.
They are healing it.
They are expanding it.
And here’s the part that matters most to me…
I am so proud to be a breeder who chooses purpose over labels.
Proud to raise purpose-bred mixes with intention, patience, and a whole lot of love.
Proud of the care that goes into every pairing, every pregnancy, every tiny life that starts here.
And I am especially proud of my Goldendoodles, because I have witnessed firsthand how they change lives in the quietest, most beautiful ways.
I’ve watched them become a child’s first best friend.
A comfort in grief.
A reason to get out of bed on hard days.
A steady presence in seasons that felt unsteady.
I’ve seen hearts heal that I didn’t even know were broken.
I’ve watched joy grow where there was once only silence.
I’ve seen families become whole in ways they never expected.
And in those moments, labels fall away.
Arguments fade.
Opinions stop mattering.
All that remains is love pure, simple, life-changing love.
I don’t just breed dogs.
I get to be part of stories that will be told for years around dinner tables, in baby books, in “remember when” moments.
And that is something I will forever be grateful for.
From where I’m standing, purpose-bred mixes didn’t ruin a thing.
They just proved that love doesn’t need permission from tradition.
And the families choosing them every single day?
They already cast their vote.
