This vet (Dr Black) was incredibly brave and strong for speaking out about proposal 129, she is one of the veterinarians that works for the Denver dumb friends legue (one of the biggest supporters for this proposal). It goes to show, veterinarians truly do care for the animals welfare and its companies behind this proposal looking for a way to make more money.
I encourage everyone to vote no on 129. Keep our pets safe!

I keep posting about this proposition because I truly care about animal welfare. A perfect example of of why this proposal could be dangerous, I had a routine spay about a week ago that had unknown horrible pathology (my first teratoma! I can geek out about it with you if you want, we got some great pictures!) and it took me 4x longer than a normal routine spay. What if this dog was being operated on by one of these mid levels!? Would one semester of labs prepare a mid level for this kind of procedure, I highly doubt it. Would that animal even make it out of surgery with a mid level is my concern.

Keep your pets safe! This proposed position will give the midlevel vets 3 semesters of online training and ONE semester of labs. This is not enough training to trust them with surgeries! Vote no!

Colorado ballots are on their way to you. Double-check your registration status and brush up on all the important measures in this year’s ballot, including Proposition 129. If passed, this measure would dangerously alter pet healthcare in CO, allowing underqualified individuals to perform complex veterinary duties, which will lead to more risks, errors, and potentially higher costs for animal owners. Vote NO on Prop. 129.
