Doggie Spot 💡- a little history and insight.
This is Rigby. The dog who made Dames’ an official groomer. Well over
10 + years ago. When he was 7 months old. I will never forget. He was my first interview dog at Tailwaggers on west 10th street.
Now a senior dog. Along with his house mate Nala- a Miniature Pinscher. They both come about once a month for their spa day and pampering.

Ohhh and I haven’t posted any about the new year!!

Look at this sweet face. This is Teddy, a Poodle mix. He's about 3 1/2 years old and weighs about 20 pounds. Teddy is a very friendly and happy little guy, but he and another dog in his current household are not getting along, and because there is a new baby involved, little Teddy is the one who has to move out. We think he deserves his very own forever home.

Teddy loves to cuddle, but he also loves to play and go on walks. He’s good on a leash and loves to ride in the car. He may need just a little work on housebreaking, but he so wants to please his people that it won't be a problem. Teddy can use a doggy door, he’s crate trained, and he doesn’t bark. In other words, he's the perfect little pup for someone! He would do best in a home where he's the only dog and someone is at home most of the time. To see Teddy, call Cindy at 970-353-1385. Message from Owner: Sammie has been part of our family for 4 years after we rescued him from the Weld County shelter. He is a very sweet dog but does have anxiety around strangers. He loves whipped cream and any other high-value treats. Please help us find him! It’s so cold outside and we are worried sick.

UPDATE: SAFE!! Megan has a foster and we will update as we learn more about her needs to be successful in a forever home.

Megan needs a foster home today! A puppy mill is a horrible place for a puppy to grow up. Like most mill dogs, Megan lived in a cage outdoors and missed out on crucial socialization periods with humans. She wants to love and be loved, but has never learned to trust. Totally non-aggressive, Megan either pancakes or runs....terrified as she has no concept of what is expected of her or how to behave in a home. She will be a project, but the reward for watching a sweet, scared dog like Megan transition into a happy, confident, playful pup is huge! Please share with your Berner loving friends/family who understand and are experienced with fearful dogs and text MPR asap if you can help at 970-281-7381.

Losing a pet can be one of the most difficult things a pet owner faces throughout life. Studies show the grief of losing a pet is no less painful than losing a human family member for many pet owners. Professional groomers not only empathize and understand, but share in your grief as well. Here are a few things your professional groomer wants you to know:

1. It's not uncommon for a professional groomer to provide services for a pet for their entire life. We watch them grow from wiggly pups into mature adults followed by becoming a geriatric. We grow attached. We love them for who they are with any silly quirks.

2. Because we do see them on such a regular basis, they become part of our family. We grow to know them as an individual. If we see you in public, we may not remember your name, but rest assured we know your dog's name. We have a connection with them. Forgive us if we only know you as Fluffy's mom or dad.

3. We completely understand your grief. Grieving a pet is not silly or wrong. It is painful and can sometimes be traumatizing. We understand because we hurt with you. We will miss your pet being a part of our lives. We cry on the phone with you or sometimes alone out of sight so as not to upset the other clients.

4. If you need someone during this difficult time, reach out to us. We can talk about them with you or simply listen. It's also perfectly okay to reach out to a counselor or therapist who specializes in pet grief. Remember that grief has no time limit and we all grieve in our own ways. Be kind to yourself ❤

On Sundays I share a moment that was particularly impactful to me as I carry out my work at Interior. This week as we celebrate National Park Week, enjoy this serene photo from Crater Lake National Park.

To be in Oregon and see Crater Lake for the first time is to form a spiritual connection to this volcanic gem. The snow was still on the ground as we walked along the rim and it was quiet.

I feel grateful that we’re investing in the trails and roads that lead to the lake, so that more people will be able to experience its beauty. It’s the memories and connections we form with our lands and waters when we spend time in nature that give us the motivation to protect those special places. At Interior, we’re stewarding our lands so that everyone has an opportunity to build bonds with nature and become responsible stewards of our Earth.

Message from Owner: We had Rosie taken from our neighborhood today at 2pm-ish. She was in the grass near our hse and a silver/grey jeep stopped and grabbed her and left with out time to question or capture the plate numbers. She is our family pup and my three boys miss her and we can't even believe this is real life. She is not chipped. Local neighbors couldn't pull up info in ring doorbells. It happened to quick and we just want her back in our arms.

Description: Blonde mini dachshund. 5 lbs. blue stripped collar. Recently spayed. Answers to Rosie. My babies miss her.
