Cat scratching can be frustrating when your cat claws at your nice furniture or carpets. Scratching is a normal behavior for cats and serves important functions as well such as:

1. To maintain the necessary claw motion used in hunting and climbing, as well as a way to stretch their body.
2. A means of communication between cats, leaving both scent and visible markers to demonstrate that this is their territory.
3. To keep their nails well-groomed, remove the old nail sheaths, and expose the new nail growth inside.

Griffin was showing off his amazing tricks after his visit! What a good boy!

Waffles was having a blast at his first visit!

Connor and Charlie came in for their annual exams last week! Charlie brought one of his emotional support toys and Connor showed off his “I want more treats” trick!😂💚

Welcome Dr. Le Mahieu! Dr. Justin Le Mahieu grew up in a small town in southeast Wisconsin. He attended UW-Green Bay for his undergraduate degree and began working at Oak View in 2017 as a veterinary assistant. In 2018 he began his veterinary schooling at Ross University on the island of St. Kitts, but continued to work at Oak View during his breaks. He completed his clinical year at the University of Wisconsin and graduated from Ross University in 2022. He is very happy to be back at Oak View as a doctor and looks forward to working with every client, both old and new. Dr. Le Mahieu’s interests include general surgery and preventative medicine. When not at the clinic, he enjoys camping, board games, and cheering on all Wisconsin sports teams. He shares his home with his wife Jess and their dog Dane (Shepherd/Lab Mix), and two cats Leila & Kaleeya.

Storm and Lucky were in for a kitten visit!

Chewy stayed with us yesterday for a little while, he was such a good sport about everything we even put him to work!😃💗

Gizmo was in for a kitten visit, he wanted to show you how cute he is and how talented he is with feeding himself treats!🐱😄

Jax was a little thirsty as his visit!

Hobo was in for his last kitten visit this week and he goes CRAZY for a Churu treat! If you need to administer medications for your cat and haven’t tried Churu we have some in our lobby that can be purchased for $1!
