Donate or Lend Decor: Got extra holiday decorations? We’d love to take them off your hands! Inflatables, blow-ups, yard decor, lights, or anything Christmas-y—bring it our way!

Drop-Off at the Front Desk before November 24th: Just drop off your decorations at the front desk, and we’ll take it from there! Make sure if electric you provide an electrical cord.

After the Holidays: If you want your items back, feel free to come pick them up after the season. Make sure they are all labeled with your name and contact informarion. Or, if you’d like, we’ll either keep them for next year or donate them to spread the cheer.

UPDATE on Eve❗️

Yesterday she was in for Dr. Abby to perform surgery. First Dr. Abby performed an ultrasound to see exactly where the object was located and also the depth.

Dr. Abby then proceeded with surgical removal. As you can see in the videos this was a challenge, but thankfully there was still some thread that was attached to the NEEDLE 🪡 which helped provide some guidance.

We are happy to report that she is doing well today post surgery and is on her road to recovery.❤️‍🩹

🌟Meet Ruby🌟

When Ruby came to us about a month ago her mom was looking for help due to her having ulcers in both of her eyes 👀. Dr. Abby found, after examination that Ruby had Entropion of her eyelids and this was causing the ulcers.

Entropion is when the eyelids would roll inward and the eyelashes would rub on the cornea of the eyes.

Dr. Abby performed surgery to fix the entropion and Ruby was in today for her post-op recheck and suture removal.

We are pleased to say that the ulcers in Ruby’s eyes have cleared up and now Dr. Abby is focusing on the scarring that still remains. We are so happy that Ruby now has a clearer vision to her everyday life. 🤩

✨Buddy's Bootcamp may be the option for you. ✨

Classes are small, personalized and specific for puppies ranging from 8 weeks to 6 months.

Our CVT, Sarah has completed the specific course work🎓 and is certified in canine training and behavior. Puppies should be up to date on vaccines💉 according to their age and on monthly flea, tick and heartworm prevention. Classes will focus on all things puppy and ensure your puppy has a fear free experience to life but, especially their vet visits. Space is limited.

💲$140 for 4 - one hour classes
📆 Starts - Tuesday, November 26th (4 consecutive weeks)

Our Story

They say what goes around comes around and nothing could be truer for us. More than 30 years ago Dr. Neil Rechsteiner worked at the business he now owns today. He served in his teen years as a “kennel kid” and did odd jobs around the clinic learning first-hand what a career working with animals would be like. In 1982 when Dr. Neil completed vet school in Minnesota, he returned and in 1985 bought the business. In 1983 the decision was made to expand and the Allouez Animal Hospital was opened. Through the years, Dr. Neil had many kennel kids, including Becky Krull. In turn, Dr. Becky graduated in 2005 from the University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine and returned home to practice with her mentor, Dr. Rechsteiner. In 2008 Dr. Becky took her place alongside Dr. Rechsteiner and became a partner. Dr. Abby joined our team in 2016 as an associate, but she too once worked as a receptionist in her college days! Dr. Becky and Dr. Abby are the primary veterinarians at the Allouez location, while Dr. Neil can be found on the west side.
