The kitties had a very special visitor... ❤️ Nolan here is paralyzed just like some of our cats. Lyla and Slippery Soap knew right away this was someone who truly understood them. Nolan got lots of snuggles and had such a big smile on his face! Thank you so much for socializing with our rescue kitties, Nolan, they are already missing your kindness! Come back again soon. 🥰

"H-hi.. my name's Fishtopher. 🐟 I'm new around here. I came to this place called Safe Haven from a shelter far away where I was at risk for something called euthanasia. I'm not really sure what that means, but I do know that I feel a lot safer, and this place is pretty big and cozy. ❤️ However, I'm kinda shy... and I like this box here. I use my big green eyes to watch the other kitties zoom around and play, but I'm just not ready for that. I prefer to swim solo for now. I really like people though, and would love if you would come in and pet me. I'm told I give 10/10 head bonks!"

There might be a million fish in the sea, but trust us, there's none like him! Fishtopher is READY for a furever home, he's been waiting long enough! 🥺 He doesn't love all the cats here, but a chill feline friend in a home could work out with a proper introduction!

LAUNDRY HELP NEEDED! In recent months we have had 50+ laundry volunteer sign ups and only a handful have come in. Our bins are piling up and we cannot afford a laundromat bill when so many lives are counting on us. 😥 If you previously signed up, please make sure that you are receiving emails from [email protected] (check spam) and stop in if you can. “Pet cats, take naps!” 😴🥰 Cat Grandpa Terry has been making rounds on the internet again! Here are a few recent photos and answers to common questions I see on posts. 👴🏻

“Is Terry still there?” YES! Terry comes in weekly and doesn’t plan to stop anytime soon! 🙌

“How is napping helpful?” Safe Haven takes in kitties with disabilities and special needs. Sometimes we have cats who are unsocialized. When Terry naps on our couches it tells the scared kitties “okay, this human isn’t a threat”. They sense his calm and loving presence and snuggle up with him. Then they go on to become socialized with more humans and find furever homes! 🥰 Anyone visiting is welcome to do the same- though we can’t guarantee kitties will flock to you like they do with Terry!

“Is he physically/mentally okay?” Terry is in good health, don’t worry! He keeps up with doctor visits and stays home if he is ill. If you ever see him using a towel as a blanket it’s so that our incontinent/paralyzed kitties don’t leave a mess on his clothes, not because he’s cold! We have plenty of blankets or pillows should he ever need any! 🛏️

“Is this really a job?” No! Terry is a retiree and volunteer, he is not paid. Even if we tried he wouldn’t take it- he wants every penny possible going towards the kitties. He only wishes every person who saw his story could contribute so that we can continue to be a “safe haven” for both kitties and people for years to come. 🥹

URGENT $5 FRIDAY: Moomin's start to the new year is NOT going well. 🥺 Just before Christmas staff noticed he was refusing food and not acting like his usual charming self. Turned out his teeth were bothering him, and a painful abscess on his chin had developed! Just when we thought he was in the clear ANOTHER abscess was discovered today. Poor boy has undergone 3 (!!) procedures now with a 4th on the schedule. Multiple drains, chin staples, cone of shame.. he can't catch a break. 💔 His constant cries are heartbreaking- he misses all of his kitty friends in the sanctuary.

Moomin isn't handleable without anesthesia, so along with his surgeries he needs to go under for exams and cleanings. We're looking at $1-2,000 at least for just one kitty right off the bat in 2025! 😥 Please consider donating ANY amount you can spare today, every single penny adds up! Keep Mooms in your thoughts, he's a trooper!

Each animal will receive a brief wellness exam for $25 which will be paid in advance through the ticket link to secure your spot. If you will be bringing more than one, please purchase one ticket per animal. Please bring proof of current rabies vaccination unless receiving 1 year rabies at time of service. Proof of prior rabies required for 3 year booster.

-Rabies Vaccine 3yr - $35 (proof of previous vaccine required)
-FVRCP Vaccine - $20 (upper respiratory/infectious disease prevention)

Now all he’s missing is a furever home. 🏠 If you’re looking for a snuggly, social, and playful pet this is the kitty for you! He LOVES soaking up attention and makes friends with anyone he meets! Nelson is on a special prescription diet to keep his tummy happy and healthy. (Purina Pro Plan EN Gastroenteric) 🍽️ Due to his dietary restrictions he is in a private suite in the sanctuary. He spends his days waiting for visitors and hoping someone will fall SO hard that they won’t be able to imagine life without him. 🧡

Whoever adopts Sox better write important notes in their phone, because he’s notorious for stealing paper, writing utensils, and more! 🚨 This little kleptomaniac has no shame. Charge after charge and he keeps going back for MORE. Security cameras? Witnesses? He doesn’t care. Whatever his thieving kitten teef want he gets! Please share to find this mischievous kitten a furever home! While you may never see that grocery list you set down, you’ll always have his purrs and snuggles. He can make you laugh on your worst day- maybe that’s why he does it! 😹❤️
