A Super Speedy Glimpse of Real Life at the Blue Heart Sanctuary πͺπΌπππ
A Super Speedy Glimpse into Real Life at the Blue Heart Sanctuary...
If only barn clean out day was this quick and easy -lol πͺπΌ
Seriously though... Running an Animal Sanctuary is a physically demanding and costly venture. The supplies for the barns alone have gone up to $300/month and their and Estrella's Feed now nearly $400.π±
After 20+ years of dedication to this, I would still do it all over just for the chance to give these Beautiful Creatures the Life of Love and Peace they ALL Deserve!! ππΌππ
If you Feel called to help Support this Extraordinary Place of Heaven on Earth, We could definitely use a little boost!

Cupid
Camera shy? Not Cupid.
Heβs got curly horns and curly wool, and heβs the most sociable of the bunch. He loves pets and cuddles, especially chin scratches.

Taking a quick breather - 2/3 of the humongous bale left to go! πͺπΌπππ
π The Hay is Here!! π
No rain in the forecast and highs in the 40βs made it the perfect day to go get a load of hay for the sheep and goats! No decently priced small bales so I headed to Spruce Pine to get this monster 800 lb. bale! Unfortunately itβs too wet to drive around so, Now for the fun part - breaking this sucker open and dragging smaller flakes up to the barn on tarps! ππͺπΌππ
Bless Timmy ππΌππ
Grateful to Care for All these Beautiful Animals at the π Sanctuary yet some days can be a real test of physical strength and fortitude - lol
Happy Hay Munchers ππ
Nothing like some fresh flakes of hay to keep everyone toasty on a sub-freezing cold night!
Thanks again to everyone who has offered their Support!!β¨πππΌπ
We have a way to go/flow for the funds to buy the hay we need but whatβs been contributed so far is a great start!

Midnight Check-In πβοΈππβ¨
Itβs 18 tonight at the πSanctuary but no wind so with the exception of Timmy, I left the sheep out and intended to check on them before I called it a night.
Thrilled to find them hanging out in the big barn on their own!!
Thank You All who have sent donations toward their care!!
Iβm going to town tomorrow to replenish their food and bedding!
I Am So Grateful πππΌπ
Weβre making preparations for the incoming Winter Storm. 3-5β βοΈβοΈβοΈ and 10 below wind chill possible tonight. Iβve got everybody in the barn including our OG, Timmy - sheβs been with us for 19 years and is mostly blind now. Getting ready to hang some heat lamps and fill their hay bags. We would be ever so Grateful for some Flow of Resources- literally $3.21 in the Sanctuary account atm. Trusting that we are always supplied with what is needed to care for these beautiful creatures ππππββ¬ππ«

Winter is Here! βοΈπβοΈ
What a Huge Difference 24 hours can bring! Overnight, our animal friends at the Sanctuary have experienced a drastic shift from what felt like Springtime to a Chilly Wintery Blast!
The goats arenβt feeling it - lol
Grateful they have a cozy barn to cuddle up in! πβοΈππ
Good Morning Treats for Our Sheep Friends βοΈππ
Midnight Snackers ππ
Our sheep friends must have heard the commotion going on with Jetta and the rather large possom that's on the roof. Everyone except Timmy wandered down to check it out - naturally now they think it's snack time. They know I can't resist those adorable faces ππππ«
Freedom Flight! ππΌππ¦π«
It's a Great Day!! The Great Horned Owl that we helped rescued off the busy highway back in July took his Flight back to Freedom! ππΌππ¦Special thanks to Lisa Lane for contacting us to assist and especially for caring enough to stop when she saw this Beautiful Creature sitting injured on the side of the road. We also applaud the efforts of the Lees McCrae Wildlife Center. 3 months of Intense Rehab made this Owl's release back to the wild possible.
