When Carissa was brought to the shelter at the end of July, we immediately got her the vet care she needed for her eye and started her journey to getting healthy for adoptionโฆafter almost 5 months, her eye would not improve and we could tell she was in pain, so we had to make the decision to have her eye removed with the vet ok. You wouldnโt believe how much this has helped Carissa! No longer in pain after her eye surgery, she has come out of her shell and is enjoying playing in our kitten room with toys and attention from the staff & visitors! Carissa has blossomed into an adoptable teen kitten! Because of your support, we are able to help kittens like Carissa! Send in your Trim A Tree donation today!

Each year we ask our friends to be an important part of Christmas at the Adoption Center by participating in our annual โTrim-A-Treeโ fundraising project. When you receive your Trim-A-Tree letter in the mail, simply return the attached ornament by mailing to P. O. Box 792, Greeneville, TN 37744. Your ornament will hang on our Adoption Center Christmas tree. Feel free to add your name and the names of your pets to the ornament. You can even attach a picture of your pet to the ornament if you like! You can also go online at https://gchumanesociety.com/donate/ to make your tax deductible donation and we will create an ornament for you. If you didn't receive our letter and ornament, we have extra so stop by the shelter to add your ornament to our tree! This can be a great gift giving idea for your friends, family and co-workers.
We would love for you to stop by the Humane Society's Adoption Center to see our beautifully decorated tree that will be decorated w

Good morning! Update about the 31 dogs from the neglected / cruelty situation here in Greene County. We have TEN dogs that still need furever homes! We have posted their photos on this post with name of dog on each photo. With your help sharing our posts, we have successfully placed six dogs with reputable rescues and placed adoption holds on eleven dogs. Two of the young puppies have sadly died due to the living conditions they endured.
We are doing an application process to choose the best adoption match for each dog so please be patient as we do this. If you are interested in adopting, please come meet the dogs 12-4 Tuesday through Saturday this week. If you need more information, give the staff a call during these same hours and days.
We appreciate everyone's donations! We have been so blessed by the community support!
Thank you so much!! YOU are appreciated and YOU are the reason we can save dogs and cats that need us!! ๐ฅฐ๐ถ
