We are still seeking fosters and puppy (dogs under two years old) raisers! Fostering and puppy raising is an incredibly rewarding experience and we are seeking some more folks for our team! We have young puppies (10 weeks plus) and dogs all the way up to two years old that are going to graduate soon that need Fosters/Raisers!

✨Guardian Home opportunity ✨

Looking LOCAL (within 2 hour drive required, closer preferred) for guardian homes for two of our golden retriever breeding dogs, one boy and one girl. They are both adorable and sweet as they come! (They cannot go to the same home as they are intact siblings.)

They are six months old (pics are old, I will add newer ones asap), fabulous with other dogs, love everyone they meet, are well socialized, are crate and house trained, have had dna/genetic testing and hip and elbow radiographs (X-rays) and clearances done.

We know there is no shortage of interested parties when we don’t have a dogs available, but now that we do, we thought we would start with a post. Please reach out to [email protected] if you are interested!

[*As a guardian home, you are the permanent home for one of our breeding dogs while they are in our program. Once they are retired (and spayed/neutered at our expense), full ownership transfers to the guardian family and they get to keep the dog forever.]

We have some Goldador (Golden retriever x Labrador retriever) puppies available to great homes this January!

Our puppies are being raised by a professional service dog training organization and come with the beginning of crate and potty training. As well as early training on leash walking, gentle mouths, and impulse control. All the pups have been positively exposed to various people, experiences, and places. All the pups have had ENS, ESI, and Puppy Culture done with them. Adopters are given a comprehensive “preparing for adoption” checklist as well as access to our insight for help setting all families up for success when welcoming their newest family member!

These pups come from multiple generations of service dog lines. They are easygoing, focused, very easily trained and of course loving! Full clearances on parents are given.

Some of the pups we are looking to adopt out will be for puppies that we expect would prefer to be a family pet instead of a service dog, but with the right person/family they would be a really nice, ESA or therapy dog. We expect to have a few dogs that will be well suited to service work that we will not be keeping due to the high number of pups born in the litters and our program’s capacity. For these dogs we are seeking either professional dog trainers hoping to take a pup home to care for, train and then place as an older started dog or fully trained Service Dog. (An amazing option for dog trainers that have a client that can’t handle a puppy). Or someone seeking a service dog and is prepared for what the process of owner training will be like. We expect all people buying a prospect puppy to have a professional dog trainer selected that they will work with. Did you know that training a highly skilled service dog costs almost all non-profit programs far more than they charge their clients? Check out this fabulous article and exciting research from University of Arizona scientists! “Raising and training a service dog takes considerable time and money. Costs range from $50,000 to $70,000 per dog, and only about half ultimately achieve certification. Research by associate professor Evan MacLean aims to raise that rate and lower costs by identifying biological and behavioral markers correlated with successful canine trainees.“

“Our daughter Emma received her service dog, Disco, from Diggity Dogs Service Dogs, Inc. two years ago. Having Disco in her life has been a life-changing for Emma, and we could not be more grateful for our experience with them. Diggity Dogs was friendly and extremely professional throughout the process. They kept us informed at every stage before we came to get Disco, and the week of training that they provided to Emma when we picked him up was thorough and beneficial. They have been continually available to us since that time to answer any questions, or address any concerns that we have had. Disco has been an amazing dog since he came home with us. He has flown on planes with Emma several times without incident. We have taken him on long car trips without any problems. Most importantly, he has been Emma’s constant companion for two years now. He has gone with gone with her to crowded stores, movies, even fan conventions, all places she could not go before she had him. His behavior has been perfect every time. We have had countless experiences with Disco as a family where we get up to leave some public place and people are startled to see a dog was there at all; he had been so quiet and well-behaved. Disco is also beautifully in tune with Emma. He recognizes her symptoms, and reacts to them effectively. His interactions with her are subtle, yet have proved to be wonderfully effective in promoting her ability to cope with her stressors. This has proved to be so valuable in promoting her independence and her self-reliance. In closing, we have nothing but positive things to say about Diggity Dogs. They have proven time and again to be wonderful people, and our experience with their training program has proven flawless. We would endorse them without hesitation.
