Does this look familiar? Late April to May is black-fly season! Our canine companions will often get bites from these flies on areas where their fur is thinnest like their bellies or the insides of their legs. If you see flat, red spots like these on your dog, know they are black fly bites, they do not itch or cause pain, and do not require any treatment. Make sure your dog is on year-round flea, tick, and heartworm preventatives to keep them protected from other potentially life-threatening conditions passed by ticks and mosquitoes, especially as the days get warmer!

Meet Charlie, a 6-year-old Ball Python. He is a calm and friendly snake who came to us for challenges with his shed as well as having some retained eye caps. This can happen when our reptile friend's habitats are not maintained at an appropriate humidity level or do not utilize periodic soaks to assist with their shed.

Ruby and Corin had a good timing showing off their dance moves! 💃

Chella the Cockatoo enjoyed some attention from our staff wgile hanging with Dr. Hale.

This sweet Corgi pup, Lily, was more than happy to smile for the camera during her visit with us!

Meet Ruby, a sweet red-footed tortoise. They are known for their bright yellow, orange, and red markings. Originally from South America, they are very social and have become very popular pets. They make a great lifetime companion as they can live up to 90 years.

Xavier made sure to get some snuggles in with Katherine at his checkup.

Sedona is such a brave girl for her visits with us. Just look at that sweet face.

Meet Norbert, an adorable Blue Tongued Skink. Originally from Australia, they have become popular pets in the US due to their blue tongue. Interesting fact about their evolution, they can hatch eggs inside their bodies and amputate their own tails in an emergency.

Sometimes you just need a good snuggle to know everything will be ok!
