WOW, talk about fast and furious,,,elbow's and As****es.. for two days and we SLAM the doors shut! The 2024-25 quota was met and surpassed due to new and past clients having successful mornings on opening day. Thank you to all the new and old clients who continue to amaze me every year. Past clients are still able to bring in deer, but we are no longer accepting new clients. As always i am truly grateful for all of you.
Thank YOU

Black bear with AI backdrop, shop lighting is terrible for photos and too heavy to move outside by myself, Whitetail is the Belt winner. 7 deer left to round out the deer just in time to start all over again. Looking forward to some more waterfowl. Good luck this year and stay safe.

Anyone have a deer still in the freezer that they are wanting mounted but either never got around to it or just didnt have the funds at the time???? I have a deal for one mayb two people. I have someone working in the shop looking to get a few more deer under their belt.
This is a great opportunity to help someone with getting started in Taxidermy and for you to get a heavily discounted shoulder mount. If you are interested in the details please feel free to DM me or just call or text me.
Thanks

Just wanted to let everyone know I am at quota for New Customer Whitetail Deer shoulder mounts. Past Clients are still welcome to drop off their deer but I wont be accepting any new clients for the 2023-24 Deer season. In order to keep turn around times for all specimens and to keep mount quality at High Standards, this is the best solution. Thank you to all the new and already existing clients. I'm truly grateful to have the loyal customers I have, I appreciate every single one of you! ( please read this carefully ) If you have any questions shoot me a text or call!
Thanks

LADIES And GENTLEMEN .... IT'S TIIIIIIIME,,,,,.. introducing first fighting out of the Red Corner.........
hope everyone has been able to put in a few sets already this year!! Not going to bore you with the usual rant this time but want to let everyone know I will be hosting a Big Buck Contest this year. Winner receives the "Ervin's Taxidermy 2023 Big Buck Champ" Undisputed Championship Belt!! Rules are simple, kill the biggest buck, by total antler growth "no deductions" if it's measurable and He grew it it scores! I will be scoring ALL deer AFTER the season is over and ALL deer have went through their proper drying times. This will likely take place sometime in February.
Your deer has to be mounted by me!
Scored by Me!
Legally Harvested! (2023-2024 season) Oct 1st-Jan 7th
Open to everyone that meets this criteria.
In case of a tie, I will just cut the belt in half😁, or we may just have to have a Big Time Wrestling Match!!! Winner take all. This is just for fun and some bragging rights, lets try to keep it civil. Belt will be on full display in the shop for fitting and viewing pleasure, good luck, have fun, be safe, and "Keep Hunting"

Juvy Canada Goose,,,, (side note doesnt matter how many you see it is a Canada Goose not a "Canadian Goose"!! " anyways, I frequently photograph as I'm working to get a different perspective, This goose had hundreds of thousands of pin feathers,,, (honestly didn't think it was ever gonna mount up). wishing now I would've snapped a few pics of it on it's habitat, I submerged a piece of wood in a mud flat with some exposed rocks and short grasses, And some gravel along a "washed up bank" feeding Canada Goose as requested. I'm guessing this bird is missing more feathers than it has left!!!! stay tuned for more waterfowl, got some more Geese and other duck species that I will be posting,, also planning a future schooling with a very talented waterfowl expert!!

customer requested wall mount cornfield habitat, "just enough detail to not over power the mount" coyotes are really beautiful animals, although stinky and sometimes mangy, I do enjoy mounting them.

I guess when ya don't really eat em' they always find ya. I do know enough people that do love to eat em so I always look for em' when I'm turkey hunting or scouting for turkeys. I have spots that I have found them in for 20+ years and always find new ones to add to my list of "hotspots" 2 days and over 200 shrooms aint too shabby! Lots of what I call poplar yellows this year.

Good Luck to all the Indiana Youth Turkey hunters this weekend. April 22nd and 23rd.
And all the others that will be chasing those old toms soon after.
Remeber if you or a buddy is gonna have your birds mounted, Don't let em flop all over after the shot (if possible). Handle your trophy with care, carry the bird out by the head or the feet. Don't let it ride in the bed of your truck with the wind blowing the feathers around, blah blah blah, you know the normal routine from me.
One other thing to note: If you are going on a guided hunt, make sure you get with your taxidermist and find out how he prefers you to bring the bird back. Too many birds are HACKED up for NO reason. Legs cut off, breasted out with an old piece of barb wire fence, and numerous other things that In my opinion just make no sense. Birds that are handled with care make superior mounts. I'm always willing to answer any questions.
Good Luck, make some great memories, have fun, and "Keep Huntin'"

Alaskan Wolf, this male wolf was originally dry tanned and intended to be a wall hanger. (Skinned out and tanned to hang from a nail on the wall). With several issues arising throughout the process, we finally managed to get him mounted and put on his base. He is now ready for a permanant home.

Kentucky Coyote finished up, took him out for a few natural light photos too, in the fall decor.

First back pack DIY archery Elk hunt , many oppurtunities, blood was drawn on a bull elk and after a 4 mile track we lost the blood. To have one chance or to even see and or hear an Elk we were considering it a success! Hunting at high altitudes is not for the weak. Hiking over 50 miles and sleeping with the gear you are packing makes it all the more challenging. Lessons learned, experience gained, we will have a way better plan the next time we go putting boots on the ground that i believe in some places, may have never had a human foot placed upon it. See ya soon Colorado, coming back with a chip on our shoulders!

With the season quickly coming upon us i wanna take a minute and explain a few things to do or NOT to do. If you are going to pay xtra to have your deer caped, make sure they are doing it right. Or watch a video on youtube and make sure YOU are doing it right. (I see all your selfies) I know you know how to work youtube on your phone. Do not leave the whole neck on your deer. 3-6"'s is way more than enough. Do NOT drag your deer out behind a four wheeler. Do not hang your deer by the neck with a rope. Do not spray your deer off with a garden hose. Do not drive your deer around in the back of your truck for two days or more. Do not hang your deer up and fill it full of water (it is not a water balloon) do not drag your deer through the mud. Do not drag your deer by the back legs. Do not let your processor keep your deer caped out. ( unless they have freezer space) do not get gravel, kitty litter, f***s, or any other foreign material on your deer. Do not cut your capes too short. I understand mistakes are made, but if we all just slow down, make some wise decisions, and if all else fails call your taxidermist. I generally have room to cape your deer and will do so at no xtra charge. Prices will be going up this year ( you can thank Joe Biden for that) and i will only be doing around 50 deer this year. This 50 does not count from previous clients. Help your taxidermist keep your specimen clean!! Any questions give me a holler! hunting

Giving thanks to a buddy that set me up this year with a few Ohio turkey hunting opportunity’s. This bird is super special to me, giving me a chance to chase a bird in a different State, hunting with a new friend, and a look into the future when i get to repay the favor with a Whitetail hunt or whatever other adventure that may come our way! Thanks for helping keep the streak alive!!!
