‼️RABIES ALERT‼️

A raccoon that was found on Wesley Chapel Rd in Greene County has tested positive for rabies. This is the first confirmed case of rabies this year in Greene County. The raccoon was deceased upon our office's arrival and was then sent off for testing.

We would like to take this time to encourage ALL pet owners to have their pets vaccinated against rabies, which has to be done at your vet's office by a licensed veterinarian. As we do live in a rural area, wildlife is abundant, and it is imperative to make sure that you are taking all steps available to you in protecting your animals.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitant to call our office at (706) 454-7039.

Good morning!

If you own livestock in Greene County, please be sure to check your fences! We have had some hard winds lately that could have caused trees to fall resulting in damage, gates opening, etc., and have had several calls of livestock out and running at large this morning.

Everything that was called in has been secured at this time, and we appreciate the owners having quick responses to get them put away.

Thank you!

‼️FOUND DOG‼️

This dog was picked up in the area of Veazey Rd. This is NOT the dog that we have been attempting to catch. We are still working on catching her.

This cutie jumped right in the vehicle with someone passing through in typical hitchhiker fashion and was brought here to our office. They do not wanna spend the weekend in the pokey so if you or someone you know may own this little rascal, please come bail them out!

03/05/2025

We do have a trap set in the Veazey Rd area. We ask again that you please do not interfere with her and do NOT feed her.

03/04/2025

We have had several reports of a dog in the area of Veazey Rd/Walker Church Rd. Please know that we are aware and are working on this diligently. Please do not feed or attempt to capture this dog. She is now travelling further and not staying in any certain area, and we feel this is due to a large number of people stopping and attempting to interact with her. Not only is that potentially dangerous as this is one of the number one causes of bites, but it is also making our job incredibly difficult when it comes to setting a trap and attempting to catch her as she is moving away from each area directly after. If you do see her, please do not stop, make our office aware of the location as well as the time she was there, and we will follow up as quickly as we can do so.

Thank you!

‼️IN THE (PEN)ITENTIARY‼️

Two more have been caught running at large in the City Cemetery, they're being held for Greensboro Animal Control at the Greene County Animal Control Facility for "pack like" activities and trespassing with a serious rap sheet history because of this! Their bonds are considered reasonable at just $30 if bailed out today! They will get a hot and a cot until you can come, but they miss the feel of the free world already and don't wanna stay overnight!

If these are your doggos call Greensboro Animal Control or our office at (706)-454-7039, and we can get you in touch with the correct people!

‼️LOCKED UP THEY WON'T LET US OUT‼️

Actually, we do wanna let them out! These 3 were brought down to the pawlice facility yesterday by Greensboro Animal Control. Two of them, we won't point anyone out directly, (the tan and white, and the black and white 🤫) were running at large through the cemetery and had been wanted for quite some time. The beagle showed up at a local plant but is pleading the 5th on where her residence is at.

They're here and waiting for their owners to come post bail so they don't have to spend the rest of the week in the slammer, they say they won't reoffend if you just come get them and let them come home. They mean it this time!

All joking aside, these three sweethearts are being held at Greene County Animal Control Facility for Greensboro Animal Control. You can reach out to the city directly or give us a call here and we can get you in contact with the right people.

Please share the new residents so we can try to locate their owner and get them back home!

We need foster homes for 9 puppies. 5 boys and 4 girls. They will need to be kept away from other dogs because they are too young to be vaccinated. We will provide everything for their care. If you are interested please email at [email protected] or 706-343-9977

‼️ATTENTION PET OWNERS‼️

I think we are all well aware of how cold it is outside, and the temperatures are not projected to rise above freezing for an extended amount of time.

Please make sure that you have adequate measures in place for your pets during this cold front. Although we absolutely encourage that pets be brought inside during weather like this, we do understand that is not always an option for everyone. You can still make sure that they are being kept warm by ensuring they have access to shelter, food, and unfrozen water. We encourage the use of straw in dog houses/cat shelters as that will help hold in their body heat for warmth. A well fed and hydrated animal is better able to regulate their temperature and help with natural insulation to help withstand the cold.

We hope everyone as well as all pets stay warm and safe during the weather that is headed our way!

‼️ATTENTION RESCUES‼️

This is sweet Juneau (like Juneau, Alaska). We feel she would do best in a rescue/foster environment. She needs a little time to warm up to new people, but once she does you won't be able to shake her. She is so loving and is eager for all the attention you will give her.

Juneau is potty trained, leash trained, seems to do well with other dogs, and is good overall in her kennel. Once she comes in, she is content with laying down and hanging out. She is FULLY vetted to include spay and microchip and is ready to go when you are! We want this girl to have a great opportunity to gain some confidence with new human friends and find her loving furever home.

Please share so we can get Juneau girl out there, and if you are/work for a rescue and have interest in her please do not hesitate to reach out to our office. This girl is going to make someone so happy; we just know it!

‼️SNOW DAY‼️

Our office will be closed today due to the weather!

Please be mindful of the temperatures, as well as the snow and ice in the following days. Make sure your pets have adequate areas to get out of this weather and somewhere warm, preferably inside if at all possible.

Be mindful of toe beans on the cold ground, as well as ice, a slip and a fall for you or your pet is not gonna make for a fun snow day!

Everyone be safe and enjoy the pretty snow!
