You all might remember this post I made a few weeks ago. Birdy & Barkis located in Fletcher, NC and has been severely impacted by Helene. I have been speaking with the owner, Sophie, off and on as she does not have internet or reliable cell service, and the last I spoke to her she had no water. I asked if she had a go fund me, which she said she didn't feel comfortable having people donate when they are all in the same situation. I asked if she could still take commissions and she said that "commissions would be so wonderful because I can paint and have something to do". I am just so heartbroken for her and all of our WNC neighbors going through this. . Please keep her in your thoughts, and if you are able to commission a watercolor or a canvas portrait, I promise, it would mean the world to her. Sophie's contact information is in the original post but please keep in mind that it might take a little bit for her to respond. Please feel free to share with others that might like to have something made from her.

A few months ago I started on a quest to find a local meat supplier that could provide me with quality beef liver on a consistent basis. While I would love to support the smaller farms, they can’t always provide the quantity I need, and the state prefers I stay with one vendor for ease of tracking.

I went to go visit Sally and CJ at Triad Meat Company and was so happy to find them! This butcher shop has been around for years and offers beautiful cuts of meat, fresh fruit and veggies, all kinds of local condiments and even Blenheim ginger ale (IYKYK). They have gone above and beyond with making sure I am happy with the products I get from them and are always cheerful every time I see them! They also have a state inspector on site every single day. I could not be happier to work with such a great small business. All meats are USDA and sourced locally in NC.
It’s such a treat to pick up my order and a nice NY strip for dinner.

Starting today, my treats are available in the shop; so be sure to stop in and grab some (and something yummy for yourself!). I am starting with Zero-G Beans, Light Speed Liver, and my newest product, All Heart. If there’s something else you’d like to see them carry please let them (or me) know and we can make it happen.

Also- they make dog food too! Stop in to talk to CJ if you are interested in feeding raw.
