IMPORTANT NOTICE ABOUT MICROCHIPS ‼️

Save This Life microchip company has abruptly shut down, unregistered from the national database of microchip registrations, and are not receiving or responding to customer services inquiries via email, phone, or other communication channels.

**If you ever adopted an animal from our clinic’s adoption program between 2016-2023, they likely have a Save This Life microchip. You will want to register your chip with another business such as this FREE one --

https://www.freepetchipregistry.com/

Or by scanning any of the barcodes in the image to register through those companies.
Check your adoption records. If you can't find them, your vet can scan your pet for free with a universal scanner and tell you what company your chip is registered with and what the number is. If you know the number, but not the company, you can look it up using the AAHA Universal Microchip Look Up Tool at AAHA.org.

Barney hates to hear that you've got to go back to work and school next week, but oh well. Someone's got to do it; he can't because his schedule is already filled with naps, playtime, kongs, and watching Star Trek.

Dogs deserve better.

The American Kennel Club turns 140 years old this week. Its tagline is “For the love of all things dog.” Nothing could be more misleading. Although it tries to pass itself off in the U.S. Congress and elsewhere as an authority on animal welfare, the organization is a breed registry for purebred ...

How do you know when your cat is in pain? While it's true that they mask pain quite well, it's also true that we can detect it--with the right tool.

What makes your pet a senior or even geriatric-aged pet?
A pet at about age 7, or 75% of their expected life span is considered a senior pet.
When an animal is at 100% of their expected life span, they are considered geriatric.
While we love pets of all ages, senior and geriatric care is our specialty at Lucy's Friends!

This is such good news!

Ezra, who we liberated from a testing laboratory in November, reached an important milestone: he looked his mommy Sue in the eye for the first time! ❤️

Making eye contact is a big deal for our laboratory testing survivors. After enduring severe trauma, eye contact can be quite scary for these sweet pups. So, this is no small feat for Mr. Ezra! We are SO proud of him and so is his amazing family. We love you, buddy. 🥰

We always encourage pet parents to do their research. Know who you're hiring. Professional pet sitting companies are different. They cost more, but there's a reason for that.

RESCUED BY Rescue Tails, SC!!

THIS SWEET FAMILY HAS RESCUE COMMITMENT!!

URGENT RESCUE NEEDED FOR SWEET NOVA AND SEVEN PUPPIES! RANDOLPH COUNTY NC SHELTER IS FULL‼️🆘‼️🆘‼️🆘‼️🆘‼️🆘‼️🆘‼️🆘

Meet our German Shepherd Nova and her approximately 1 week old puppies! Nova is estimated to be around 3 years of age and weighs 66.8 pounds.. She was brought to the shelter, along with her puppies, as a stray by one of our officers and they were never reclaimed. Nova has been a very loving and nurturing mother to her seven puppies (3 females, 4 males), but she does tend to be protective of her puppies. She has settled some and seems ok with staff in kennel with her babies. (See video).Nova is an easy-going girl that is as sweet as they come. Nova did great for her heartworm test and vaccines. Nova was on edge for her dog test and initially growled, but when the dog backed out of her personal space she did just fine. She is not spayed and tested negative for heartworms. Since the puppies are still nursing on Nova, she has only received her rabies vaccine and her first round of Pyrantel dewormer, but she can be vaccinated prior to leaving the shelter upon request. If you can help this beautiful family of eight, please email us at [email protected] or call us at (336) 683-8240 ASAP as our shelter is FULL.

We only pet sit for animals that are spayed/neutered and up-to-date on shots and vet care.
