Did you know that dogs need walks? Running around their yard is good for exercise, but walks offer something a yard can't: enrichment. A walk allows your dog to see new things, experience novel terrain, and smell new scents--something dogs find particularly enjoyable. Leash walks also help dogs develop social skills.
Even dogs with physical challenges can benefit from a ride in a stroller or wagon. The time you spend together and the mental stimulation your dog will get is invaluable.

Missing from her colony!

UPDATE: REUNITED!! Lady is home safe & sound after 4 days, 11 hours :)

"Happy Happy Happy. LADY Showed up yesterday to her stomping grounds. She walked slowly past her caretakers porch. Glanced at her friends then kept going. She showed up this morning to be fed. We have no idea where she went or what happened . Neighbors were doing yard work so maybe she got locked away and finally was able to escape. 10 plus days of not seeing her was a long time. She is Safe that's all that matters. Thank you everyone for your prayers and keeping a eye out for her. Her caregiver is thrilled she is back . She may not let us touch her but she is truely loved.

Please spread the word! Lady was LOST on April 21, 2024 in Greensboro, NC 27410 near Regency Dr / Rheims Dr Near, Rolling Roads Park Behind the Old Gander Mountain Bldg . She is spayed and left ear tipped. Part of a managed colony . Shy . Timid

Message from Owner: Lady comes from a well cared for colony of cats . She's a sweet girl who will roll around in front of you looking for attention but probably won't let you touch her. She is spayed and has her left ear tipped. She has not shown up to her care giver / feeders in almost a week. That is not like her at all. She's always the first one waiting to be fed. We really have grown to love her and her friends . We don't want any harm to come to her. If you have seen Lady or know of her whereabouts. Please let us know. We would love to make sure she is OK. Please check your sheds or grges or crawl spaces incase she managed to hitch a ride to hide while you were doing Yard work last weekend or this week. She might have gotten locked up with your yard tools.

This is one of the hardest posts I've had to write.
When we started 21 years ago, it was just me. I had 2 clients--Riley and Winston. Those dogs passed away many years ago, but they marked the beginning of what I would call Lucy's Friends first generation of pets.
That group was rounded out by 2 cats, siblings named Max & Brady. We became their sitters around 2008 or so.
For 16 years, we saw their family grow and change. The human kids went to high school, then college, and one had a wedding not too long ago. We spent every Christmas with them. I had a tradition of bringing my Christmas dinner and eating with "the boys". We went through sad times--deaths in their family and mine--and many happy times. Brady passed away a few years ago, making us even more attentive to Max. All of us would spend extra time "off the clock" keeping him company.
Max and I listened to many a podcast together, and he whiled away countless afternoons on the porch, enjoying the sunshine or snoozing in my lap. In later years, Wolfgang and Jen were his caregivers. He was special and beloved by us all.
Max crossed over the rainbow bridge last month. He was the final friend in a very special chapter in the life of Lucy's Friends. He is loved and missed, and I will never eat a Christmas meal without thinking of Max & Brady.

*Abnormal breathing
*Suspected poisoning
*Inability to urinate or defecate
*Severe vomiting or diarrhea
