I started this business with 2 types of plants i bought at a auction, i put them in a tub in my back yard with some gravel and grew them over the summer, i kept splitting and propagating them over and over and over again until my little 3ft round tub was full of these two plants ( AR and blyxa japonica ) as the summer was coming to a end and fall was coming i started selling them for a few bucks a stem and they sold... well, very well actually. I then got with a good friend who was a business and asked her if she could sell to me on a discount so i could expand into some other plants, got them grew them out and sold. This sparked me into researching what i had to do to turn a hobby into an actual business, so in January of 2018 i filled out my paperwork to get my sale and use tax certification ( that is the only thing needed in the state of North Carolina to become a business ) I registered my business name with my county and started contacting wholesalers. I started to expand, i got another tub, i ordered in a handful of different plants, my minimum was $100 and at first i didn’t think there was any way i was going to have room or the money for $100 worth of plants! But i saved up a bit, placed a order and sold them all! I then started researching websites so i could make my own for the business and actually start to form a real online presence, I started with a 90 free trail on godaddy, that turned out to be the best decision i could have made! It got my name out there people started to recommend me to their friends, and orders started to come in! I then went and redid my entire website on a paid service to which i have a 3 year lease for now! I have several wholesalers i work with, a wide range of different plants i can get, as well as about anything else within the hobby! Went and bought a greenhouse that now houses 2 90g tanks, a 50 tall ( that i really need to clean out and actually use ) 1/2 of a store display and a 10g i use for moss! On top of the greenhouse i have 4 tubs for the spring-fall months that i expand into while the weather is good! I have made many loyal customers and friendships this past year and hope to continue making new friends as well supplying the best plants i possible can! Its been a great journey that i hope to eventually turn into a full time business! From 2 plants to over 40 in stock on average and more on the way!
Thank you for the opportunity to supply with the best plants and great customer service!
