Do you and your dog have a case of the winter blues? We have an idea! Celebrate National Train Your Dog Month by challenging yourselves and your fur-covered friends!

Training is essential for puppies and rescues, as it sets boundaries, prevents unwanted behavior, and strengthens the bond between the owner and pet! However, there are many things that we can learn with our pets and a variety of resources to choose from!

A quick internet search will reveal a multitude of local resources such as obedience and training facilities. These can be done in a group setting or individually for unique needs. There are 4-H clubs for youth and their canine companions and agility courses to satisfy our most exuberant furry friends!

Many of you have already met our newest technician, Hayley, but we wanted to take a few moments to officially introduce her!

Hayley and her boyfriend live in the northern section of Westmoreland County with their cats and dogs. She recently studied at the Veterinary Technician Institute in Pittsburgh and is completing the last phase of her education.

Hayley has always had a special love for animals and now gets to share her passion for helping heal them! She volunteers locally with rescue and charitable organizations. Her favorite patients are the “spicy” kitties and especially loves puppy kisses and kitten cuddles!

We are fortunate to have her on our team and ask that you please extend a warm welcome to Hayley❤️
