Yes, I’m a flower farmer. Yes, I grow so many beautiful flowers. But for some reason I’m struggling to sell them without a physical farm stand. Instead of them going to waste, I find myself gifting them to people around me. Most of the time it’s employees of the Y, neighbors or the stores I’m in, but today it was the nurses in the lab where I got my blood drawn. I hope it made their day as much as it made mine. I love being able to gift and spread love wherever I go. Growing flowers has brought so much joy in my life. So when it doesn’t financially benefit me, I appreciate the dopamine benefit!

If you haven’t guessed by now, my love language is 💯 acts of service and gift giving 😅

Our garden is busting with goodies, and let me tell you, it’s keeping me so busy!

My favorite way to use these tomatoes is homemade ketchup. Yes it’s a process. Yes it takes all day. Yes it’s worth it. Yes it tastes so much better than store bought. Yes I love it. Yes the kids loved it and raved about it. It’s all a positive experience over here!

What’s your thoughts on a kitchen sink mixed set? Would include 8 different prints. Random, obviously. Is that cool? Or lame? I hear all the time that people want a mix, since they can’t always choose their favorites. Honesty only please! I can take it, I promise! Just ideas in my head, but I don’t want to put time into putting together mixed sets if this is something my customers wouldn’t like.

Sometimes I get the diy bug, so yesterday I bought a very bold statement color and painted the dining room. And I absolutely love it. Our last house was full of millennial grey and I have ptsd apparently, because as we slowly redo the house, I find myself gravitating towards color and fun.

One of my favorite things to make, especially when I have fresh veggies from the garden is PIZZA! John and I have joked about how it would be so fun to open up an artisan pizza place, especially since I love experimenting with toppings that ultimately end up tasting amazing. Tonight’s creation was simple, garden fresh tomatoes and basil with a mixture of cheeses.

It seems like this is my go to whenever we have company, and I’ve had more than one person rave about it and request it when they come over next.

There’s something about homemade fresh baked bread right out of the oven with some butter and local honey. The older I get, the more I enjoy and treasure the small things that bring joy. And let’s be honest, bread always brings joy.

Like this seed popping through, I tend to have to remind myself that I’m never done growing and I can always bloom where I am planted. Sometimes that may mean a huge life change, and often times that’s how our brains think of growth. However, I’ve found myself being consciously aware of what my goals are in life and having small changes add up to big ones. I suffer from imposter’s syndrome, always worried about whether or not my product is good enough, or if I’m going to enough markets and presenting myself to enough stores to be able to make a living doing this. So today, I’ve decided to start anew. Nothing big, but instead just going to make the best of the situation, be happy and satisfied with what I’m getting out of my business and work hard towards expanding… but not today. Today I’m going to rest. Today I’m going to reflect. Today I’m going to bloom just a little bit into the person and business woman I want to be. Today I’m going to not worry about how hard June and July has been financially on my business, but instead reflect on all the goodness that I have received. I’m so blessed to be apart of so many stores and markets. I’m so blessed to be able to meet and share my products with so many new and returning faces. Today I’m not going to concentrate on the number I see in sales, instead I’m concentrating on the growth I’ve experienced in the last year, both personally and professionally. Today I’m going to concentrate on the impact that I (hopefully) have made in others lives by helping them find a sustainable alternative that’s cost friendly and can help make a difference. Today I’m going to be content and happy and thrive, because if this seed can bloom, so can I.

Today I am going to be grateful that I have the opportunity to bloom.

Our July employee of the month is 1 of our 6 ducks, Pancake! Isn’t she adorable? She literally does nothing but run around and play in the water all day, but we can have high hopes that she might start laying eggs soon and contribute to the farm outside of her cuteness! Side note, she’s the only duck that’s actually named because the other five ducks all look identical and there’s no way we could tell them apart, so their collective name is duck, or goose. 😂

We’ve been so full of eggs lately, so yesterday we water glassed over 4 dozen to add to our winter stock pile. Right now we’ve saved around 20 dozen eggs, with a goal of 60 dozen so we don’t have to buy eggs when the chickens stop laying when it gets cold.

Doing my least favorite chore today, cleaning out the pig and goat pens.

We do this weekly to make sure our barn stays clean for our animals.

All of our hay and 💩 don’t go to waste- we compost almost everything!

So anyways, what are y’all doing today?
