One year ago, we set out on a mission to change the lives of pitbulls in need, and because of YOU, we’ve done just that! In just 12 months, we’ve watched scared, abandoned pups transform into beloved family members, and it wouldn’t have been possible without this incredible community.

To our amazing fosters—you are the bridge between heartbreak and a happy ending. Your love and dedication have saved so many lives.

This sweet, young pup is looking for his forever home once again—through no fault of his own! Unfortunately, his new family encountered unexpected financial hardships and want to ensure Murphy finds a home that can provide the love and care he deserves.

Murphy is a fighter! He survived Parvo as a puppy and is now thriving as he learns what it means to be a dog. He’s playful, affectionate, and will happily plop into your lap for endless kisses. While he can be a little unsure of strangers at first, he warms up quickly—especially if you have treats!

🐾 Murphy’s Highlights:

• Dog-Friendly: Lived with another dog previously and did great. Will need a meet & greet for any potential fur siblings!

• Cat-Approved: Currently lives with a cat and has had no issues.

• Big Personality: Sometimes forgets his size but responds well to gentle reminders.

• Smart and Eager to Learn: Highly food-motivated and ready to continue his obedience training.

Murphy’s ideal home would be with someone who can help him build confidence, trust, and keep up with his training. He’s a snuggle bug who loves being with his people and will bring so much joy to the right family.

🎉 Today is a Double Celebration for Winnie! 🎉

Our sweet Winnie is celebrating her 2nd birthday AND finding her forever home! 🐾

This adorable girl came to us from a tough situation that left her feeling unsure about the world. But with time, love, and patience, Winnie’s perfect human came along—and it was worth the wait!

Winnie has settled beautifully into her new home, and we couldn’t be more excited for this next chapter in her journey.

🎄 Murphy Got His Christmas Miracle 🫶

Murphy came to us as a young pup who barely survived Parvo. Tied to a tree and left for dead, he showed the incredible resilience of this breed and defied the odds. After stabilizing, Murphy moved into an amazing foster home, where he began learning the basics of being a happy, healthy dog. Huge thanks to his foster parents and pitbull sister—you truly saved his life!

Murphy’s forever parents discovered his photos on Facebook, and it was love at first sight. They knew he was meant to be part of their family and couldn’t wait to start his adoption journey. They even asked to adopt him early so they could actively participate in his training and provide the consistency and stability he needed. 🤍🐾

Today, Murphy is living his best life with his new parents and a kitty sibling! Looking at him now, it’s hard to believe his tragic past—but wow, was he worth every step of the journey.

Thank you to everyone who played a role in Murphy’s story. Your love and support made this miracle possible.

It’s cold outside, and leaving your dog out in freezing temps isn’t just cruel—it’s ILLEGAL. Protect your pets and follow the dang law: bring them inside. If you see something, say something.

🥶❄️ A reminder from Pittsburgh Animal Care & Control that it is against the law (633.23) to leave a dog, no matter the breed, outside unsupervised longer than 30 minutes when the temperature dips below 32 degrees, including the wind chill factor.

AC&C will respond to calls for dogs left in the cold. For normal business days and hours, call 412-255-2036 between 7:30 a.m. - 3 p.m. Monday - Friday. On holidays and weekends, call 9-1-1 and the call will be routed to an AC&C officer.

Please keep your dogs safe this winter season!

🦃 Thanksgiving Safety Tips for Your Pup 🐾

As you gather to enjoy Thanksgiving, don’t forget to keep your beloved pittie safe and happy during the festivities! Here are some quick DO’s and DON’Ts to protect your pup:

DO:

✅ Provide a quiet space: Big gatherings can be overwhelming. Give your pittie a cozy spot to retreat if they need a break.
✅ Stick to their routine: Keep feeding, walks, and potty breaks consistent to reduce stress.
✅ Offer safe snacks: Plain turkey (no skin, bones, or seasoning), cooked sweet potatoes, or green beans are safe treats in moderation.
✅ Monitor guests: Make sure everyone knows your pittie’s boundaries, especially around kids or if your dog is shy.

DON’T:

🚫 No table scraps: Avoid fatty foods, gravy, stuffing, and anything with onions, garlic, or spices—they’re toxic to dogs.
🚫 No cooked bones: Turkey bones can splinter and cause serious injuries.
🚫 Skip desserts: Chocolate, raisins, and artificial sweeteners (like xylitol) are dangerous for dogs.
🚫 Leave trash accessible: Keep garbage out of reach to avoid accidental ingestion of food wrappers, bones, or harmful scraps.
