FeLV+ kitty looking for foster or a forever home!
Meet Maizy! π Maizy is FeLV+ (Feline Leukemia Virus positive), but that doesnβt stop her from being the sweetest, most loving cat youβll ever meet. Sheβs full of snuggles, purrs, and so much joy!
Maizy came to WW as part of TNR project. She is a super sweet who perpetually looks little βgrumpyβ. Maizy is petite and compact and there is a lot of love and endless biscuit-making power in those little paws of hers.
Because Maizy is FeLV+, she needs to be adopted as a solo kitty or to a home with other FeLV+ cats. She would do fine with gentle, respectful children who can be patient at first.
Maizy is estimated to be a little over a year old. She has been spayed, dewormed, flea treated, microchipped, vaccinated, and has tested FIV-/FeLV+. This chronic illness doesnβt currently affect Maizyβs daily life; however, the FeLV virus may eventually affect her health and lifespan, as FeLV impairs the catβs immune system. Becoming established with a Supportive FeLV+ vet and treating other illnesses as they arise is essential to maintaining an FeLV+ cat.
Currently Maizy is being housed at our sister organization, Spay It Forward, in a crate due to the inability to have her around other cats. We would love to see her either fostered or adopted to her forever home!
Adopting an FeLV+ cat means giving a deserving kitty a chance at a wonderful life filled with love. These cats often get overlooked, but they have so much love to give! If youβre considering adopting, donβt forget to meet the special needs kittiesβthey might just steal your heart like Maizy stole ours. πΎ
Her adoption fee is waived to an approved adopter.
