You have the opportunity to schedule a drop off time for your dog to have the training that you need the most!! But consistency is of the upmost importance! Just because we are training your dog does not remove you from the equation! All clients will be expected to keep up with the same techniques and training methods. This is a wonderful program to take advantage of for anybody that finds them self hard-pressed on time, or if you’re not physically able to handle your dog. 💥SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT 💥

We are very excited to announce our new Top Dog Therapy Team Youth Volunteer Training Program!!

This ten week course will be available starting September and will be instructed by Rodney Little from Top Dog along with his assistant, therapy, trainers, therapy handlers, and of course, numerous Top Dog therapy dogs!!

Youngwood Top Dog has been the sole training company for The Top Dog Therapy Team and has helped perfect their training program and operations to better serve our community now it’s time to take their program to the next level by offering a youth program for children between the ages of 10 and 17 years old.

What are the benefits of children working with Therapy dogs?

🐾They can bring your anxiety down up to 48%

🐾 They can experience up to 41% improvement in their overall well-being

🐾 Lowers anxiety helps us relax

🐾 Provides comfort

🐾 Reduces Loneliness

🐾 Increases Mental stimulation

🐾Dogs provide a healthy escape

🐾 Dogs provide a happy distraction

🐾Dogs can act as a catalyst in the therapy process

🐾 Dogs help kids break the ice

Classes are one hour end, duration, and 10 weeks consecutive on the same day/time you register for.

The two classes we currently have available to register for:

Wednesday, September 11, 6 PM to 7 PM

Saturday, September 21, 2 PM to 3 PM 

All kids must achieve minimum eight classes out of ten to meet the credits to be able to graduate part of the permanent Top Dog Therapy Team Youth Volunteer Training Team. (Make up classes can be scheduled)

This 10 week program is $300 per student. We will take up a total of 15 students 50% is due at registration. The other 50% will be due the first day of class.

We do accept, cash, cards, checks, or PayPal. This program and all other training programs are non-refundable and non-transferable to other classes or programs however, we do understand if you have to miss a week or two or need to make up.

Pet first aid/CPR

Socialization and desensitization/temperament

Basic Obedience Training 1

Therpay dog vs Service dogs/therapy working mode

Therapy Dog Public work

Week 9
Therpay Dogs in Public 2

Week 10
Therapy Dog Training/conclusion

Each student/parent will receive a manual to take home each week that will have a homework assignment for the kids to work on every week between classes.

Each student will be invited back to three meetings per year with all other Youth Program volunteers for continued training and education. You will also be invited to represent our team at some of our public events. There will be no charge for any ongoing education and training after the 10 week program has met his conclusion.

Once the youth has become 18 years of age, they then would be eligible to join our adult team as full members and go through in advanced therapy training program with previous credits.

All parents must sign a waiver for their children for this program. Parents are more than welcome to stay with their kids each week for the class and trainings or they are more than welcome to drop them off and leave them under our care and pick them up after the class is over.

All students will get there pictures taken, and they will all be issued a Top Dog Therapy Team youth trainer ID badge!

All students will also be eligible to order Team swag and gear from our website!

Congratulations to our most recent round of graduates from our Advanced Walking with Distractions Class! This class is no easy task as these teams worked hard for five weeks to master doorway thresholds with their dogs, they also worked hard on perfecting the heel walk with numerous distractions as well as working on their dogs attention spans while in close quarters to other dogs! if you would love to have an opportunity for your dog to learn this of course please send us a message. Who’s loves a tired dog? Dogs need an incredible amount of enrichment daily with both physical exercise and mental stimulation! Sadie LOVES the flirt pole! This challenges, her brain in many ways, offering her a great way to dispense energy along with working her mind at the same time!

Who’s coming to our Pet First Aid/CPR Class this Saturday at 1 PM at the Westmoreland Mall?

This class is open to ALL AGES!!!

this is a great opportunity for rescues, shelters and families and friends of all ages to to have an opportunity to get some hands-on experience with performing real first aid on a real dog with expert guided knowledge!!!

The donation for this class goes to The Top Dog Therapy Team!!

What will you learn Pet First aid/CPR?

* How to build your own pet first aid kit
* Restraining your pet
* Heat and Cold Injures
* Chocking Management
* Bleeding Management
* Poisoning
* Rescue Breathing
* Insect Bites/Bee stings
* Snake Bites
* Checking your pets Vitals
* Snout through tail injury check
* Limping

This class will be taught by medical professional Emily Nebiolo and Rodney Little.

Each person will get a take home pet medical information book and get hands on medical training in this course.

Class is a $20 per person donation to go towards class materials.

We are located inside of the Westmoreland mall on the second floor on the Casino side.

Our space number is 276. We are directly next to the armed force center.

If you find a way to the elevator, come upstairs go straight you will find us or if you’re on the first level head towards the casino there are steps on the right hand side that will bring you right up to us.

Please do not forget to bring P**P bags in case your dog has an emergency to or from our store.

We ask everybody to please make sure their dogs are fully bathroom or leave before coming into the mall.

Parking:

No matter where you park at in the mall, it is pretty easy to find us from upstairs to downstairs from the food court to the other main entrances find your way to the center of the mall where the elevator is and head down towards the casino.

“It was like being in Doggie Disneyland” our owner Rodney Little said! The 3rd Annual Bark in the Boro hosted by Ligonier Paws On Main Street was fantastic! There’s were so many amazing dogs and amazing vendors all over town!! We had a wonderful time meeting everyone and being part of the Pet Blessing. 🙏Thankfully Mother Nature gave us some beautiful weather! The Top Dog Therapy Team dogs enjoyed meeting a ton of people yesterday! Thanks for having us as part of this event and thanks so much to everybody who came out to support it!! ‼️🙌🏻🐾💯🙏🐾

We have three recent graduates of our Phase One Therapy Training School, congratulations to Teams, Frankie, Sofia, and Magnum for moving on to the second Therpay Training Phase!
