My little chunk… ❤️

I just love Dog Squad and everything they do! It’s been the biggest privilege to be trusted to a foster for Luna and her babies.

At just 10 days old, Apollo is thriving beyond our wildest hopes. It’s hard to believe he started as the smallest and weakest of the litter, yet here he is—the sole survivor and a true little fighter. Mama Luna has been nothing short of amazing, showering Apollo with love and care.

We owe so much gratitude to Meredith, who has opened her home and heart to Luna and her babies. Fostering makes miracles like this possible—it truly saves lives. Meredith’s dedication and care for this little family have been extraordinary.

Apollo is already hitting milestones—his eyes are beginning to slit open, and Meredith says they should be fully open later this week. And those adorable double dewclaws? They’re growing, too!

Thank you to everyone who supports foster families and rescue work. Because of you, Apollo has a chance to grow strong and live the life he deserves.

Follow Meredith for more updates on Luna and this little warrior’s journey.🐾

It took me a little bit to make this post, because I just didn’t have the words right away. So here it goes…

After a long couple of days fighting, and what we thought was a promising morning… Juno has crossed the rainbow bridge. There’s comfort knowing that we did everything we can for her and gave her the best chance she had. She was loved here and given the best of what I had for her whole little life. She passed away with her mama and 5 mins of CPR did not bring her back. I like to think that was the best way for her to go. She was warm, safe, loved, and with her mama and her brothers. Newborn puppies are SO fragile and so much work. If you are not an ethical breeder, please spay/neuter your dogs. If you do not have the knowledge, time, or patience to give, please spay/neuter your dogs. Accidents happen and if that’s the case, please ask a reputable breeder to mentor you on newborn puppy care. Every minute counts that first 7 days. When you bring a life into the world, it is your responsibility to give it the best life possible, and never give up on it. I’m writing this with tears in my eyes over a puppy I did not bring into the world, but one that deserved us as humans to do better. I know my Murphy boy met her at the rainbow bridge with his best boy smile. Juno’s gonna love it there. 🐕🪽🌈

Thank you again to for allowing me to care for this little angel.

was soooo great to this new mama and her babies. They agreed that everything I have been doing with the puppies and mainly Juno, was the right thing to do. Which was really nice to hear. Even when you know what to do, you still worry and want to do more. They were happy to know the puppies were in capable hands. The two boys look great! They gave Juno some more fluids as expected and sent her home with a supplement in case she needs a little extra over the next few days. She will still need a little help and encouragement to nurse while she gains her strength back, but this strong little lady will be just fine! Luna weighs 109lbs, her temperature was on track for a lactating mama, she sat very good for them to do her heartworm test, and she is heartworm negative! I am so proud of these guys!❤️

Thank you again for trusting me with these 4!

For those of you who have been keeping up with Luna’s litter… here is a little update on Juno. I have not been posting as frequently on my Facebook as I have been on Instagram. If you don’t follow the Instagram page… go follow it too! Whew it’s been a long night… but look at this strong girl! Juno is moving around more, nursing on her own without assistance, and her tummy is not as upset. Her weight is still fluctuating, but that’s to be expected. After a puppy loses weight in the first few days it can be a struggle for them to gain weight normally. Juno isn’t giving up, and neither am I! These three had a lot stacked against them, but I am controlling what caused the weight loss, dehydration, hypoglycemia, and upset stomach to begin with. The work isn’t over, but things are looking up! Dog Squad

We are so happy to be fostering this sweet girl and her newborn puppies. ❤️

✨Monday Morning Update:

“The first night went really well with Luna and her newborn puppies. They desperately needed to eat and rest after such a long day. Because Luna had smothered her puppies from her last litter, she wasn't really given a fair chance to be a mom to these three right after they were born. I'm happy to say that after letting her bond with her babies and a little coaching, Luna is being very gentle and loving to her babies. She is just a very large dog and has to be careful when she lays down, sits, or shifts her weight when laying with her babies. Prepared breeders use pigrails inside whelping boxes to cut down the chances of a smothered / crushed puppy. We also monitor the puppies at all times-especially the first few days. The most crucial days are 1-7. We weigh them regularly and record weight gain or loss, we look for signs of fading puppy syndrome, we make sure the mom is stimulating her puppies to go to the bathroom, we switch out whelping pads regularly to ensure a clean area, we regulate the temperature until the puppies can regulate their own body temperature, and so much more goes into the around the clock care of a newborn puppy. Luckily, Luna is trusting me to help her be the best momma she can be, and for that I think we are both grateful.”

Thank you Roffka Raised for fostering Luna and her babies❤️

Everyone meet Luna & her sweet newborn babies. I am honored that called me today to help. I have added a little about Luna below, but you can keep following her story and progress on their page and mine! Thank you for the privilege of fostering these guys. ❤️ Also, please go donate to this amazing rescue! We love the work they do!From : After a whirlwind 24 hours, we’re relieved to share that Dog Squad has officially welcomed Luna, a 4-year-old Great Pyrenees mama, and her 3 newborn puppies into our care!Luna gave birth overnight, and after much back and forth, her owners agreed to surrender her and the babies. There was a lot of concern online about Luna being left outside while her puppies were brought inside and fed baby goat formula. After meeting the owners, we gained insight into their fears. Luna had a previous litter this past year, tragically smothering all 6 of her puppies. Out of fear that history would repeat itself, the owners separated the babies from Luna as a precaution.Luna’s puppies’ father is a stunning Great Pyrenees who reminds us of our foster Yeti!Although the owners weren’t open to surrendering him, we’re grateful they allowed us to take in Luna. We’re hopeful that getting her spayed will prevent any more unexpected litters.
