We adopt animals from the kill list at other local shelters and strays we find wandering the streets of our community. It is our mission to provide a safe haven for our community’s abused and abandoned cats and dogs, with the goal of rehabilitation and adoption into permanent loving homes. As a NO-KILL rescue, all animals brought into the shelter remain under the stewardship of Pet Haven of South

Carolina, until they are adopted. We will only consider euthanasia when recommended by a veterinarian to relieve an animal’s suffering due to irreversible injury, illness or disease. We place approximately 185 animals per year. We encourage and promote spaying and neutering as the only effective approach to reducing the pet overpopulation problem. In compliance with state law and as a matter of principal, we spay and neuter all pets prior to adoption. Pet Haven of South Carolina provides lost and found services and educates the public on the proper care of animals through printed materials and educational activities. We pursue all reports of abuse, neglect or cruelty and cooperate with law enforcement in the investigation and prosecution of such cases. We support the efforts of South Carolina’s Law Enforcement agencies, Animal Control departments and Humane Society Chapters to provide fair treatment and care for all domestic animals in the State of South Carolina. This is Draco! He is a 5 month old Great Dane mix. He has been treated for fleas, heartworms and dewormed. He is a big (35 pounds) goofy pup that loves to play and be loved on. He is looking for his forever home!

This weekend we were brought this mom and ten kittens. They were found at an apartment complex and some kids were being not so nice to the babies. A good Samaritan picked them up and brought them to us. Unfortunately they are all very sick. Mom is very sweet but is overloaded so we are having to supplement with formula also. We will be going through antibiotics, eye medication, and formula like crazy in the coming days!

This dog was found in Easley on Monday. We have named his Townes. He had a huge gash on his neck and his ear looked to be chewed or ripped off. He is neutered and microchipped. We took him to our vet and had him looked at and fixed up. We are trying to locate his owners but if we are unsuccessful, he will be available for adoption once he has healed up some!

For those of you who followed Binx's story, this one is very similar. This is Chanel. She is about 2-3 years old and is very sweet. She was found wondering the streets dragging her leg. Her back leg is broken in 3 different spots and unfortunately has to be amputated. We are trying to raise the funds in order to make this happen quickly so that she is no longer suffering.

UPDATE: We have a rough estimate of about $1400. We will have a better idea of exact costs after her surgery consultion tomorrow!
