Welcome to Mom/Daughter Fowl and our mother/daughter hobby. Both my mother (Melanie) and I (Cheyenne) strive for a hardy, beautiful, calm flock. We began our chicken addiction together in 2010 and began providing our birds to the general public in 2014. We service only our local bird enthusiast in and around Greenville TX and do not ship our birds or eggs. Our love for our birds has grown tremendo

usly over the years and we absolutely love seeing that same love in our bird customers. We provide Chicken, Guinea, and Duck hatching eggs. We also hatch and sell our chicks, keets, and ducklings. Our breeds include:
Pure Bred Chickens: BBS Double Laced Barnvelder (DLB), Black Copper Maran (M), and BBS Ameraucana (AM); Project Breeds: Easter Eggers (EE), Olive Egger (OE), and Maran/Barnvelder (M/B) cross. Guinea Fowl: Brown, Lavender, Pied, and Dun. Duck: Caygua, White Crested Pekin, Ancona, Black Swedish. Our agreement: Because we only sell as straight run we do agree to the following. If you get more Roos then you want from the chicks that were purchased from us we will replace every roo that is returned to us in good health with two chicks. This will allow every one to get a chance in getting more hens. (Will only be applied to our mix breeds, not our pure breeds). Thank y'all for your support, we look forward to the future of meeting and helping others that are looking for a happy healthy flock!

One of our puppies was returned to us in May and was placed in a new forever home that was working out amazing but unfortunately his new handler has started to have some serious health complications and is not able to provide the mental and physical stimulation that Duke needs any more 😞. He will return to us once again this weekend and is looking for hopefully a new Permanent home. Even if you can't take him because he isn't good with livestock your share and passing of the word about him will help tremendously.

Both of these original F1 Maran/Barnevelder ladies were hatched November 2015 and still gave us at least 3 eggs a week this season. Not even sure I should have retired them last year in to the pasture πŸ˜…πŸ˜….

Some of you may know already but for those that don't, my job of 9 yrs came to a brutal end on Tuesday night... If your interested in a crap read and traumatic photos help yourself if you can read it with out paying for it, and know that so much was left out, some much was hidden about the process... I along with the family and other work hands of this ranch are hurting... We are struggling, we are not ok. If we as ranchers honestly believe this isn't coming to all of us that are self supplying and supplying for others then our heads are buried so far in the sand it will be suffocated with no return along with these deer and so many others over the last 3 years. https://www.star-telegram.com/news/state/texas/article288479815.html?utm_campaign=trueanthem&utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook&fbclid=IwZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAAR0DTA0r06bsH6UHNE7JVbvWazy3mtpFRRfg9skWLfDEvR1jNjAZzVf2LhU_aem_AfohiF1f7YUbFmZS7mbiFKx91qN2BwvfPqszKGg48oc2rNEL9wJsdHGVVuywkofC8UEcPiHCRDO38JsyuN7N3qpb

It’s been more than three years since a whitetail deer at Robert Williams’ ranch tested positive for CWD. This week, the state killed the whole herd.

The most recent of our heart breaks and sadly one that will define if we can keep our doors open to you all. My dad passed away in April, my mother lost her partner of 35yrs. With that we also lost the only income that has allowed us to have the animals we have and run the farm we have, so this hit hurts.... In so very many ways. We are grieving, and we will be struggling to pick up the piece for a while. As such we will sadly need to make some decisions about our birds as they are just not bringing in enough to sustain themselves nonetheless be able to help financially for my mother. Until we make those decisions please keep us in your thoughts and help share our available post in hopes of helping us keep going until we can figure out our next steps.

We started our very first kidding season this year. Raising goats comes with many challenges and we have faced several already. Sadly our billy got kidney stones and passed away in March, after consulting with a vet and other breeders it's very common in the boer breed and nearly always a death sentence. Lesson 1 of goat raising in the books. Sadly Rocky passed away before being able to rebreed our does but we aren't ready to give up yet on them. Lesson 2: our doeling named Nutmeg broke her leg on Easter Sunday, the brake apparently is very common from what I can find🀦. The positive to our 1st kidding season was that both our does delivered beautiful large babies with ease, we were able to sell our first buckling, Nutmegs leg is nearly completely healed and she will be headed back out to pasture soon, and because of the loss of Rocky our billy, we have brought in our up and coming boy named Valentino. While my mother is ashamed of our failures and truly didn't want to share them, I felt that this was something worth sharing because animals are a lot of work and bad things just happen and it is nearly always out of our control when it comes to live animals. We live and we learn no doubt. (Picture of Valentino getting some love.)

To start the year off our incubators have been on the Fritz which means we missed the pike selling period leaving us with very little income to cover the cost of birds (we have sold enough chicks this year to pay for 2 bags of feed). That is a very scary thing for us. We are getting the kinks worked out now, and have better hatches each time but sadly no interest in chicks, just started pullets or adult hens (not cockerels or roos πŸ˜”), which will cost us significantly more out of pocket to supply. This is our first big hit of the year that we will be sharing with more heartbreak coming. Our heartwarming news of the day is that we managed to sell down to just 6 remaining piglets from this year's litters and they have covered the pig feed cost at the moment. (Video of the chicks that have been gathering in our brooders for the last 2wks.)

While we have several things we will share with everyone over the next week or so, both heart break and heart warming, know that we will need every bit of y'all's help to place our chicks as quickly as possible. For now just know if your hoping for a kid from us in 2025, expect them to think they are lap dogs if you take the time 🀷🀷. Nutmeg our doeling from this year and our upcoming buck Valentino.
