I almost didn’t post this, but some days farms and dogs are hard. This morning one of my best friends passed away and I’m at such a loss. You learn to develop a thick skin when you raise livestock and animals, but this one cut deep.
Thor didn’t know a stranger. He was everyone’s favorite greeter; even the delivery people loved him. Don’t think you were gonna get away with not petting him because he would just lean on you until he fell over. I don’t know what I’m going to do without my personal welcome committee that every day consisted of him and whatever of his ‘babies’ he could find first. His favorite thing to do was grab the closest thing he could carry and bring it to every single guest. I’m sure I’m going to continue to find his babies all over the place, and I’m not sure that it won’t hurt every single time.
Despite being the most loving creature on this planet, he was my biggest protector. He went anywhere I went. Even putting himself between me and strange dogs on more than one occasion. He might’ve been slow in his older days, but you can bet he would make his way to wherever I was on the property in his own happy time.
