Vet Tech Appreciation Week 2023🎉

Veterinary technicians play a crucial role in animal healthcare. They assist veterinarians in providing medical care, conducting tests, administering treatments, and supporting overall animal well-being. Their dedication, knowledge, and compassion contribute significantly to the health and happiness of animals. Show your appreciation for veterinary technicians by recognizing their hard work, thanking them for their service, and acknowledging their vital role in animal care.

As we observe our technical staff this week please don't hesitate to share any stories with us. Help us show our staff some extra love this week. ❤️

We are currently experiencing a power outage at our Greenville office. We may be able to still see your pet for their appointment. We recommend calling first. We will not be able to run some tests but will still be able to do a physical examination. Our phones are forwarded to one cell phone so it may be difficult to get through. Thank you for your patience during this unexpected interrupt!

IS YOUR PET MICROCHIPPED?

Let’s face it, regardless of our due diligence to protect them, pets have a way of getting into trouble…and getting lost—especially if they are not wearing their collar/harness with an ID tag.

Unexpected causes for a pet to run off can include:

Excitement: Squirrel!! Going after their best friend or that critter they have been battling furrrever!

Fear/anxiety: Loud noises like thunder, fireworks, cars backfiring, etc.

Natural disasters: Earthquakes, fires, floods—natural occurrences may force us to evacuate or keep us from our homes and pets may flee the area.

Each year, 10 million pets in the U.S. go missing and sadly only up to 10% that are unchipped are reunited with their owners (American Humane).

The number one thing you can do to find your best friend if they get lost is to get them microchipped.

Most veterinary hospitals and animal shelters can scan a microchip in your pet, search the various microchip registration databases, and reach you if your pet is found.

If your pet needs a microchip, or you are not sure if they already have one, book an appointment today.

This was the first time "Veterinary Receptionist" had a whole week dedicated to them.

I hope they know how much of an asset they are to the business.

They're our front line and often perform the hardest job in the office.

Thank you for all you do! 😘

From left to right Mendy, Becky, Jade, and Deb.

Mendy has been with us about 8 mths but she has 24 years of veterinary experience. She moved here from Florida about 9 years ago. She likes roller coaster 🎢, the mountains, baking, and spending time with her kids.

Becky has been with Foothills for 7 years. She sells Pampered Chef 🥘 in the side and volunteers with a local hound rescue 🐕.

Jade is our newbie she has only been here about 5 months. She does double "duty". 💩 She works in the kennel downstairs and reception upstairs. ❤️

Deb has been with Foothills for 9 years but has worked in the pet care industry for 42 years 🤯. Crazy Fun fact... She is an amateur paranormal, UFO and Bigfoot researcher. 👽

From left to right; Beverly, Stacey, and Holly! ♥️

Beverly has been with us for almost 2 years. Some fun facts about Beverly is that she likes to fish, oil paint, make pottery, and her bucket list trim is going to Ireland/Scotland.

Stacey has been with us for about 15 years. Fun fact about Stacey is that she loves riding a Razor FlashRider 360 with her grandkids.

Holly has been with us for about 2 years also. A fun fact about Holly is that she works remotely for us tending to a lot of our online needs. She is also obsessed with the Twilight series she has watched them over 100 times.

We truly have some amazing ladies that work at our offices! Between them they have more than 120 years of experience in the pet care industry.

This week will be filled with gifts, food, and much love for them.

Please help us recognize our "front line" staff. Perhaps you have a funny story or a situation someone helped you with or just what to say thank you, please consider sharing. ❤️

We would like to inform all our clients that there has been a canine flu outbreak in nearby Spartanburg, SC. We strongly recommend that you vaccinate your dogs for this virus, especially if your pet is at high risk. Examples of a high-risk pets include pets who frequent dog parks, boarding and/or grooming facilities, or are in close contact to unvaccinated dogs.

If your pet has been seen within the past year, you can schedule an appointment with a veterinary technician for a canine flu vaccination. The initial vaccine will need to be repeated in 3 weeks.
