All cats are done in under an hour and a half.
We offer lion cuts, brush outs and bathing for your feline friend.

We have five adorable female guinea pigs, just 8 months old, looking for families of their own! They can be adopted individually to a home with another female guinea pig or in pairs or trios, and we're not going to be adopting them to homes where they will be housed or have contact with male guinea pigs or as solo pets – guinea pigs are highly social and need friends! These girls love to entertain their foster family and to play and have fun. All are super sweet, healthy, friendly, and very well socialized. Check them out on our website – fohari.org

Meet Bowie, a recent acquisition from a local shelter. This was a tough one. But his loving foster parents, soon to be adoptive parents, stayed with him the whole time to make sure he wasn't afraid.

We need your help!! We have very few fosters right now and we can’t take in more dogs because of it. Everyone always ask “how can you do it, how can you give them away”. Well coming from a foster, if I kept the first ever dog I fostered I would have not been able to meet and save all the dogs I met after. You are aren’t giving the dog away, you are saving them from being dead or living on the streets. Without our fosters we would not be able to save the amount of dog we do. Harrison Ford is a friendly boy who loves to have fun! He's around 10 months old, a terrier mix, and he is just great with other dogs and every human he meets. He's been going to doggy daycare and loves to make friends! And his foster mom says that Harrison is super smart and responsive to training. The Friends of homeless animals is in desperate need of foster homes for their kittens. We have been inundated with kittens and we hate to leave any behind.

Please, if you could take in one or two for a short time not only would we be grateful but the kittens you save would be too.

There really is nothing we don't love about Leo! He's a sweet and petite hound mix, around a year old and just 19 pounds, and this boy loves everyone. He's great with cats, other dogs, and every human he meets. He has a friendly, happy, easy-going personality that makes everyone around him smile! Leo is also very affectionate and loves to be close to his people. He has the self-confidence for outdoor adventures and is enjoying boat rides with his foster family! Well, we have found ourselves in a little pickle. We currently have 23 dogs in our rescue and 18 of those dogs need multiple procedures/surgeries before they are ready to be adopted. So, we don’t have any dogs leaving, but we’re still receiving 4-5 surrender requests per day. We are beyond full.

Right now, Cooper, Bella & Zoe are listed for adoption on our website. Shawn and Triscuit are ready to go - we just need to get them posted. Winston and Granny should be ready to go very soon.

How you can help:

- Monetary donations are what’s needed the most right now. We are spending between $30,000 - $40,000 per month on vet bills for routine care and surgeries.

- Become a monthly donor!

- Donate food and other items from our Amazon or Chewy Wish Lists.

- Adopt a dog! From us or another rescue/shelter. We are all struggling to keep up with surrender requests.

Tiny but mighty! And we can't get over how entertaining Ducky is. He came to us with his siblings after being found in a bucket in Mississippi, and this little nugget is a terrier mix who we expect to stay small. He's the runt of the litter at just 6 pounds but he's the boss! Ducky is a sassy and self-confident little fella with a happy go lucky puppy temperament who makes everyone who makes him smile. Beagle people! They don't get any cuter than Linus. He's a tiny little puppy, maybe nine or 10 weeks old, and he came to us from a Kentucky shelter. He's going to be arriving in New England next Sunday and is looking for a family of his own. Linus is a sweet and playful boy who's just great with other dogs, and everything we love about beagles! Update: thank you to all who have donated! ❤️ we should have enough to keep Mr. B. and his family in a hotel for 2 weeks. Any extra funds raised, we will help with some of their other expenses as they try to secure housing 🙏 Mr. Berghman and his family need help! His owner and her teen daughter have been living in a car with him since they lost their home in mid-June due to a sudden increase in rent of over $500 a month. Mr. Berghman has been a tremendous comfort to his family since a sudden death forever changed their lives in 2021, and being separated from him now would be devastating to everyone. The family hopes to be placed in affordable housing in 2-3 weeks, but needs some help in the meantime. Although this is not typically something we cover, we would love to help them stay together in a safe hotel in the meantime. His owner does have a job, but spending several weeks in a hotel adds up quickly and she has also had to miss work if there is no place for her daughter and Mr. Berghman to stay.
