Dear friends,
After having my second baby, I don’t have much time to mess with Judah. I will send a $100 finders fee to the person who finds Judah a great home. He is currently available for sale or lease.
Please read the whole description:
Judah is my 2021 Oklahoma Extreme Mustang Makeover horse. He was caught in Nevada 2020 and papered as age 5 years old by the BLM (U.S. Bureau of Land Management), but he was actually 4 years old at the time. I picked him up April 3, 2021 and brought him home. I documented his training for the makeover weekly on my YouTube channel. He is 13’1 (so technically a pony) and was trained in an English saddle. I've never used a western on him, because he has such a short back.
After the makeover in August 2021, I became pregnant and continued to ride him for 4-5 months. I had another trainer continue to ride him until I was able to ride again in June. During that time, he learned how to jump. He loves to jump but still needs lots of practice.
Judah loves water and baths. He rides well at the walk, trot, and canter. However, he is weaker traveling to the left. He neck reins, side passes, and will go through an obstacle course. Even though I have ridden him over tarps many times, he still isn't comfortable with them. He has never worn a blanket. Judah is great for the farrier and vet. The only exception is if the vet has to dig for his vein. Which, who wouldn’t fidget? He isn't ear shy but will randomly pull away at times. If you continue messing with them gently, he will settle and give you his ear. I have cleaned/clipped his ears once with him twitched.
He can be lazy under saddle, which can be a good and bad thing. He is cautious at first when meeting new people but warms up the more he is with that person. He loads great into the trailer and has travelled to many places. He is dominant in the herd and does have a Napoleon/pony attitude. He will need an intermediate rider and to be worked at least once a week. Ideally, he should be worked two to three times a week. He is the smartest horse I’ve ever trained and will work very hard for you if treated fairly. He knows his name and will come when called. He’s always waiting at the fence for attention. He loves to be messed with, and he struggled with less attention during my pregnancy. He is an easy keeper with fantastic feet, teeth and extremely low maintenance. He won't breed mares in season. He leads well, trots in hand, and is easy to deworm. I have been riding him once a week to keep him tuned-up, but I am struggling to keep my schedule with him while having a 2 year old and a new baby at home.
Judah changed my life! He changed how I look at horses and train horses. He showed me my strengths and my weaknesses. He perks up when I call his name and is the one standing at the fencing looking for me. He will neigh when he sees me. It breaks my heart watching him waiting for me and having to pass him by. He is family, but I know he needs someone with more time. I’ve lost track of the amount of hours I’ve worked on him, and it pains me to watch him sit idle. He could be trained to pull a cart, be a liberty pony, or be used in a lesson program with more ride time. I don’t recommend using this 5 year old horse for a child. I get compliments on him all the time. He is stunning to look at and his soul radiates a contagious majesty. People gravitate towards him. I want him to go to a good home with someone who will love him and give him the attention he deserves! After all, that’s why I took on this task. It wasn’t ever about winning at the competition. What I really want is for Judah to win. He deserves a good life.
Judah is current on all shots, coggins, and teeth. I have his title (papers) from the BLM.
