FINALLY! A very long overdue BATHING 🧼 Tutorial! A clean horse is paramount for a great clip, but sometimes you don’t know what you don’t know. To help, we’ve created a video to walk you through how to properly prepare your horse for a body clip!
🛁 Chloe shows us her “Hands On” gloves 🧤 and some Palmolive soap are the two things she uses to bathe. She focuses on bathing just one side at a time and puts a LOT of elbow grease into all of the important areas: the croup, knees, hocks, etc. After a really good scrub, rinse very thoroughly to ensure the water runs clear and no soap suds or dirt remain.
🧺 Next ups is to allow the horse to dry completely without rolling. Sweat scrape, towel dry, heaters/fans, and hand grazing should be done until the horse is dry enough to return to their clean stall while they wait for their clip.
✂️ Time to clip! Medicate if needed and we will take it from there!!
Special thank you to Chloe Roth for her PHENOMENAL bathing and sharing her wisdom with us today!
