501(c)(3) promoting feline & canine care, pet adoption, education, pet population reduction, & more.
Bond County Humane Society (BCHS) is based on the core value that all animals deserve to be treated in a humane manner. Dogs and cats with no homes need temporary shelter until a permanent, loving home can be found for them. We believe that awareness and education allows animals and humans to come together, for the benefit of both. BCHS is a no-kill animal shelter and an IRS approved 501(c)3 charitable organization so all donations are tax deductible in accordance with IRS guidelines.

Sasha, the 3 month old Boxer Catahoula mix puppy, found her furever family on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at Petco in Fairview Heights, Illinois. Bond County Humane Society rescued Sasha from Vandalia Animal Control after her litter had been surrendered, unwanted by their owner. She’s friendly with everyone she’s ever met, good with the other puppies, and likes to play with toys. Sasha’s favorite thing is hanging out with people. She’s learning to walk nice on leash and working hard on her puppy manners. Because your people already sent us a new photo, we just know you’re having a great time in your new home, learning everything about them, the obedience basics, and probably tricks, too. Send more happy tails, sweetie! BCHS holds regular pet adoption events at the Fairview Heights Petco on Saturdays AND at our Greenville Shelter Office during public hours.

Humane Society Anniversary Day, observed on November 22nd, honors the establishment of HSI and its commitment to animal welfare worldwide.
Today is Humane Society Day. The Humane Society International is the world's largest animal protective organization. Not only do they strive to end companion animal abuse, but they have also been instrumental in working to provide sanctuary for animals abused in circuses. Their work in the crusade to end puppy mills, break up dog fighting rings, and stop brand testing on animals is known far and wide. They have paved the way for many other rescue organizations over the years, and for that, we salute them.

He’s the submissive one of the two pups, okay with being bossed by his brother. He’s picking up good manners with a trainer and walking nice on leash with harness. Kosher, the 4 month old striped tabby kitten, found his furever dad on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at Petco in Fairview Heights, Illinois. Kosher and siblings were born at Bond County Humane Society’s shelter after a BCHS volunteer rescued their pregnant mama. Shelter volunteers call him “Mr. Purr-sonality”! He’ll run and play with the other cats and kittens in his community room, especially chasing ball toys. Snuggling’s fun, too, but then it must be playtime again. Here’s to years of active fun and love in your new home, kiddo! Write often! Scout, the 6 month old black and white kitten, found his furever home on Friday, September 13, 2024 at Bond County Humane Society’s pet shelter in Greenville, Illinois. Scout was found stray in April with his littermates and their feral mama; rescued and brought to Bond County Humane Society. We placed them into a foster home where he loved to play with his brothers and sisters. Scout would climb up his foster mom’s leg to get attention! After a few months meeting new people and potential adopters, the foster mom decided she’d like to keep him, so Scout finally has a place to call his own – the place he already thought of as true home! Happy life, sweet boy!!! BCHS holds regular pet adoption events at the Fairview Heights Petco on Saturdays AND at our Greenville Shelter Office during public hours.
