Guys another common scam alert: if you see someone ‘moving’ and selling a bunch of stuff cheap but require a deposit- it’s a scam. They’ve been hacked. Just offer to go immediately over to get it and they will block you or give excuses as to why you can’t.

What an adventure it has been getting to know our new service areas! Spending time in Travelers Rest, Pelzer, Taylor’s, Greer, and a LOT of time in Easley has showed us how wonderfully widespread the need is for something reliable like us. With all the driving we have to do now, our rates are increasing a little bit to keep up!

Hang in there while we get to know the area and set a home base up soon :)

It's with great excitement and sadness that we announce we will be moving ourselves and our business down to South Carolina this coming March.

Over the span of 13 years we have worked with over 300 of our community's pet parents. We cried with you as pets have crossed the rainbow bridge, went with you as you let them go, and welcomed new furry faces to your families. We've seen the best of doggy smiles, kitty loaves, murder mittens, and looks of shame. We've talked you through what to expect with stress reactions when you're far away, revenge p*e piles and hunger strikes and shown you where we come In with the peace of mind that we have a bag of tricks and endless patience for cleaning up messes until your pets fall in love cuddling with us. While serving the community, we realized we had a real love for senior pets who could no longer safely do long trips away from home and pitties who had a hard time as a breed finding boarders or sitters to understand them. We are grateful to have learned so much from you all.

While we are excited to go back home to warmer weather, we realize this leaves a deep hole In the pet community here. And we do not take that lightly. We have found ourselves praying for someone who might feel the urge to reach out to us and talk about who might step into this gap we are leaving behind.

If you can find It in your hearts to wish us a safe journey, and keep the kidnapping plans to a minimum, then we will continue to spend our last couple months here fitting In as much pet sitting as we are able and keep praying that the right sitter finds their way here to replace us.

This breaks our hearts for our veterinarian family. What a life he lead though before crossing the rainbow bridge ❤️

It is with great sadness that we let all of you know that last night Drs. Nathan and Melissa had to euthanize our Leroy Brown.

For those that have been with the Metz Petz Family for a while, you’ll know Leroy Brown’s story. For those that don’t, we’ll give you a quick tale of Bad Bad Leroy Brown.

When Drs. Metz opened the Ada location in the fall of 2008 a family came in with a beagle puppy that had been attacked by a raccoon. The puppy lost his nose and both rear paws in the attack. At the time, the Metz wanted to give the puppy a chance and had the family surrender the puppy rather than euthanize him. Drs. Metz continued to care for the puppy and named him “Bad Bad Leroy Brown” because even though he had very damaged rear legs he was still trying to get up and walk around.

Almost 14 years later Leroy has grown in our hearts as one of our first success stories and a testament to the amazing care that our doctors can provide. Leroy was so loved that he inspired a local organization to be formed.

Leroy will be remembered for his bellowing bark, his “kisses” that were snot sprays from what was left of his nose, and his unwavering love of everyone.

Thank you to all that have taken the time to read this and remember our Leroy.

Did you know it’s important for your pet to have regular nail trims? You may not know this but your pet has something called a ‘quick’ in their nail. If you trim too close to it, it will hurt them and they will bleed. But have you noticed how it is closer to the end of the nail in some pets and closer to their paw in others?

With regular nail trims, you can get that quick to recede closer to the paw which allows you to trim more of their nail as it recedes. The longer you go between nail trims can actually allow the quick to grow out closer to the end of their nail which will keep you from being able to trim much of their nail.

That’s why when you book with us and we come out for an appointment, we will usually recommend several appointments close together until we can get that quick to recede and allow us to trim more of that nail. After that you just need maintenance appointments to keep it from growing back out. What’s stopping you from booking today?

When trying to fit in everyone we can into our limited spots, we've come across some tough choices in reserving those spots since we operate on a first come first serve.

That's why with our overnight bookings we require a deposit to snag that spot from someone else. That way if we tell someone else no...we know in good conscience that the pet parents who booked are on their way to an amazing getaway with peace of mind their fur babies are being taken care of.

But it also means it's time to roll out a cancellation fee for our other services so we can respect our groomers and sitters time that travel to you or reserve those spots and turning down someone else who could have booked that.

There will be a $5 cancellation fee for any drop ins or nail trim/grooming appts that need to be cancelled and will be tagged onto your next appts total
