Hey hey, HSEC Fam! Weāre back with another heartwarming adoption update, and this week is extra specialāwe have not one, but two long-term residents finding their forever homes, a total of six animals heading off to their new lives! Thatās three dogs and three cats adopted this week, and we couldnāt be happier to share their stories with you. So, kick back, give your furry friend a little pet from us, and letās dive right into these wonderful updates!
Sweet Dogjo, a charming Shepherd-Hound mix from our Titoās litter, has officially found his forever homeāand we couldnāt be happier for him! As the last of his litter to be adopted, his journey was one of patience, love, and finding the perfect match. Dogjo first caught hearts at our Night to Paws Gala last year, where one of our dedicated fosters took him under their wing. From that moment on, he spent the past year learning the joys of home life, romping around the yard with his foster sister Winnie, and soaking up all the love a pup could dream of. After one adoption fell through, Dogjo returned to his original foster with his head still high, waiting for just the right person to come along. His new mom had seen him online a few times, and when the timing was finally right, she knew she had to meet him. The moment they connected, it was clearāDogjo was meant to be part of her life. Now, this sweet boy has the loving home he always deserved. We couldnāt be more thrilled for Dogjo and his new family, and we wish them endless happiness together!
Teeter, our sweet and playful hound mix, has found her perfect match! When her adopter first laid eyes on her, he knew it was meant to be. As a big fan of hounds, he was searching for the perfect companionāand Teeter checked every box. Sweet, energetic, and full of personality, she was everything he hoped for and more. After spending time with her and seeing how special she was, he made it official and welcomed her into his life. We couldnāt be happier for this lovable girl and her new family! We just know sheās off to live her very best life, filled with adventure, belly rubs, and all the love she deserves.
Milo and Fleetwood struck gold this week, heading to their forever homeātogether! These two may have come from different backgrounds, but their infectious personalities made them the perfect pair. When their new mom met them, she couldnāt choose between themāso she didnāt! She adopted them both. Milo, a big, cuddly black cat, has been with HSEC for a while. Originally adopted as a kitten, he was returned twice through no fault of his own. But his streak of bad luck has finally ended, and heās now exactly where he belongs. Fleetwood, an adorable black-and-white cat, was the last of his litter to find a home. With his equally snuggly and affectionate nature, he and Milo make the perfect duo. Congratulations, boys! We just know youāre going to bring endless joy to your new home.
Buttercup, a sweet four-month-old Belgian Malinois mix, was also adopted this week! She and her two siblings had a rough start after being abandoned in a box, but thanks to the care of the Animal Hospital of Pitt County and HSEC, they got the second chance they deserved. Once they were healthy and thriving, we carefully searched for the right families to match their needs. When a family with previous Malinois experience came looking for a young, driven pup to train, we knew they were the perfect fit for Buttercup. Now, she gets to grow and explore with not one but two tiny humans as her built-in best friends! We couldnāt be happier for this sweet girl and canāt wait to see all the wonderful memories she makes with her new family. Congratulations, Buttercup!
Barn, one of HSECās longtime resident cats, has finally found her forever homeāand we couldnāt be happier for her! As fitting as it sounds, Barn got her name because she was found in one of HSECās barns. When she first arrived, she was timid and unsure, taking her time to warm up to people. But with patience and love, she slowly came out of her shell, accepting pets from staff and embracing her independentābut increasingly spoiledālife. Her adopter had been wanting a cat for ages, and after a particularly tough month, she knew it was finally time to welcome a new friend into her life. The moment she met Barn, she couldnāt stop thinking about her and knew she had found the one. After eagerly waiting for adoption day, she was finally able to bring her home. We are thrilled to see Barn get the love and happiness she deserves. Congratulations to Barn and her new momāwe know this is the start of a wonderful new beginning for you both!
Thatās a wrap on this weekās adoption update! We are overjoyed to see these wonderful animals find their forever homes, and we canāt wait to celebrate even more happy endings next week. A huge thank you to our amazing volunteers, fosters, and supportersānone of this would be possible without you! Our streak of good luck has carried us into the second week of March, and weāre determined to keep the momentum going for the rest of 2025. Stay tuned for more heartwarming updates next week!
