WOOF WOOF Hi everyone my name is Nettie and I have been listening to all the talk about the loss of human food because of no snap program. I find this very sad . These are families, disabled and senior humans that need that help. I have heard talk of how so many are coming together to have staging areas to give out food and that is so heart warming.
I came into Jefferson County AC starved so I understand what it means to have food and to not have it.
I asked to talk to you today to speak for the animals of the humans that live with these people on snap. We are their family too. For many seniors and disabled we bring the smile to their face every day. We sit by their side when no one comes to visit. We let them know they are loved and important , we are their family. Low income families have pets also. We play with their children, we make them feel safe at night when the darkness comes , we are all family.
Please if you know of a friend , family member , neighbor that has furry family members .Please check with them . Most will use their little funds they have to feed us rather than them selves at a time when they are not receiving their snap help to feed them shelves. For some they won't have extra funds to feed their furry family members at all.
I'm asking you to please reach out to these humans to see if they need a bag of food for their furry family members, that way they don't feel like they have to give up their furry best friend so they have food.
Thank you for your time . We can all get through this together.
