eers to assist in this rescue journey and become the leader and partner for horses and humans a like. Our page gives people a chance to follow a rescue horse from the time it comes in, up until adoption. There is a lot that goes on behind the scenes that no one gets to see. We all care, and so many want to help, that we want to provide the details of the wonderful results that come from your generous donations. The rescue horses come to us from other rescues or we bring them in on our own. We provide the care, training, and housing for the horse and all the love and attention we can give. The Rescue covers all Vet, feed, and farrier costs thru donations. We are a not-for profit that is 100% volunteers. Our devoted trainers work for minimal charge and when there are no funds to pay them they don't just stop they continue as volunteers. Please follow us for daily postings and invite all your friends. Please feel free to follow even if you don't want to donate when the call goes out. When we send out a call for donations it will be to help pay for hay and feed or vet or pay the trainer, that works with the horse right at our farm. Total weekly donations will be posted and you will be told where the money is being spent . We want people to know what happens to their money they donate and be able to see the progress of the horse and have a part in the bitter sweet experience when a horse gets healthy and finds its forever home. There is so much joy in your heart for them and their future but a little sorrow in their leaving. But then you can help another and sadly there will always be another. So please join us in this Journey and invite all you friends and family.

The horses sure are enjoying their new hay feeders. We are not sure if they thought they were suppose to stay there until they cleaned the bowl or thought this was just the greatest thing on earth not having to eat the hay off the ground. They never left that spot for over 3 hrs. Either way they sure are enjoying this gift.

IN HONOR OF DAKOTA --This week Rainbows Edge got a call from a family that had sadly had to lay their last horse to rest and they wanted to donate equine supplies to the rescue horses at Rainbows Edge.
We had the honor of meeting 2 of the nicest horse people on this earth. Brenda and Gary Jones.
Being a rescue normally our calls are to pickup abused or neglected horses. And the story we have to share with you at the end of the day are of a horses pain and sorrow it has survived.
This trip was different and honestly for rescue workers much needed . We got to hear from these 2 amazing people about their life with their horses . We got to hear of all the time and love they had for them and as a couple they did this. The horses lived with them on their farm ,they took care of them together . It was wonderful hearing their stories and hearing the love for their horses ,yet now heart break as they say good bye to their last equine family member ( their baby boy ).
Gary and Brenda told us how he was born right there and even though they had the barn bedded and ready momma laid that baby down right in the pasture as they watched out the window. Brenda said Gary ran out scooped that baby up in his arms and carried it to the barn . We could tell by listen to them, that was the moment the baby boy and Gary's heart beat as one.
We here at the rescue don't usually get to hear this side of the equine world and we are so honored they took the time and shared their story with us. Our hearts and prayers are with the Jones family as they heal .
In honor of Dakota they donated this load of hay to feed the rescue horses here that at one time knew hunger, They donated water troughs to supply never ending water to horses that at one time knew thirst. They donated a horse trailer to the horses that at one time took those faithful first steps into a big metal box with wheels in hopes of finding love and compassion with a gentle hand to guide and care for them , a human to trust and be a partner for life.
Thank you so much Brenda and Gary for being amazing horse people and for sharing yours and Dakotas story with us here at Rainbows Edge Inc.

Vivian has been a volunteer with Rainbows Edge for several years. This past year she left for Santa Fe College but every vacation she is right here visiting and loving on the horses. We are so proud of Viv an may all her dreams for her future come true. Today she took this picture of her and Fiona.
Some times what you see in the shadows will tell you more about a person than what they let you see face to face.
Even Fiona can feel the gentleness, care and love this young lady has in her heart for her and the animals here at Rainbows Edge.
Thank you Viv for sharing your self and your heart with the horses here.

Rainbows Edge has been asked to help find these 2 female donkeys a new home. They are a mother and daughter team in their mid teens. They are true cow guardians. These are not pets , they will chase dogs out of their field. They have not guarded small live stock so will not go to a home with goats or sheep in their field. That is for the protection of your animals.
This needs to happen quickly, The owners are both in very poor health and can no longer care for them , The one owner is on her 4th round of Cancer treatment and said its not looking good and she would like to see them get a home offer so she knows they are safe. She said they have been great guardians and know their job .
The cows are all gone now and these 2 are waiting for some one to offer them a future. They are located in Monticello Florida. PM us or call 850-878-8441 if you have a field for these 2 girls. Please share and help find them a place to live.

Silvers future started in the right direction a few months ago. With his herd needing help . JCAC and Sheriff Dept stepped in . Rainbows Edge Inc , Triple R Equine Rescue ,Fallen Oak Equine Rescue, Redemptive Love Farm, and Red Dragon Equine and farm Rescue all came together to help the horses of his herd. Silver came to Rainbows Edge he was gelded, Vetted by AVS Equine Hospital ,Wayne Frye took care of his feet that needed lots of help . Then we watch this handsome boy put on weight and turn into the beautiful horse he is today.
Now he is moving to Happy Valley Equine Rescue to start on his next chapter, training with a gentle hand and great communication. All of this has happened because of a village coming together and it is a great honor to be apart of this group of Not for Profits that help the animals.Together we are strong. Welcome Happy Valley Horse Rescue.Thank you for being apart of this journey.
A big shout out to all that follow , comment, volunteer and donate
with out you none of this could happen. You are the heart that beats ,the breath that gives life to the horses at Rainbows Edge.

Silver has been accepted to https://www.facebook.com/HVHRescue. They specialize in Paso Finos so he will be getting the best training with a rescue that is dedicated to his breed.
He will be leaving this week, we are watching the weather forecasts to see what day will be best and safe for transport. Kimberly from our good friends Fallen Oak Equine Rescue is going to transport.
We are so excited for Silver and his future.

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY from all the horses at Rainbows Edge.
We have seen a lot of heart ache and loss of loved ones that will be very much missed on this day by our followers and donors. This year we want to instead of the horses asking for a Valentine donation specific to each horse and picture to recognize your loss on this day.
The horses at Rainbows Edge want to invite you to make a donation in the name of your loved one, family member, best friend.
Horses are great listeners and feel your energy and emotions. If you could sit in the sun on the ground leaned up against a horse on this Valentines Day who would you tell them about that meant so much to you in your life. They would listen to the happy stories and also to your hurt and heart ache. Some times we don't need a conversation just a kind heart and ear.
Today if you would like to make a Valentine donation from your heart in the name of someone you love that has passed on , human or animal, Please leave a picture, or name , short story in the comments.
Donations can be made through pay pal [email protected] or call Florida Farm and Feed at 850-877-0932 or call AVS Equine hospital at 850-386-3619 or you can mail a donation to Rainbows Edge Inc 981 NW Radford Denson Rd Greenville Florida 32331
When those we love pass on before us ,they leave all the love they had in their heart for us behind with us. As so many go though today feeling the loss a bit deeper let that love they left with you be your strength. Its yours to keep let it swell and warm your heart on this Valentines Day.

ADOPTION ALERT-- Sarge went home today. Home what a simple word that so many animals in rescues are waiting to hear. Thank you Triple R for introducing Jerett to Rainbows Edge.
Rainbows Edge networks with several rescues. If one of us doesn't have a horse someone is looking for we recommend another rescue we believe in. The more rescues network together the more horses are saved and find homes.
Jerett walked in Sarges pasture put the rope around his neck, rubbed it up and down Sarges neck , laid over Sarge he never moved, then placed the halter on him and walked him out of the pasture right onto the trailer. It could not have been a better match. Sarge felt safe with Jerett and very relaxed with him.
May you both be blessed with many years together.
