It was a lovely day for a ride on the property! Major wasn’t cooperating too well for a between the ears shot, he kept turning sideways to talk to Grace! Grace did so well I put Major up and enjoyed a short trek with Grace and Rodi

This is a great post from Warwick Schiller. A good message that we can be there for our horses even if we have our own anxieties. I am not referring to “fake it til you make it” as is sometimes instructed. Our horses seek genuine behavior and become even more nervous or confused if they detect an incongruence in us. What we can do to help our nervous type horses is to be able to self-regulate ourselves such as with a breathing exercise and then we can offer that reassuring space to our horse.
