UPDATE:
Thank you all for your support of my Benny! It's been 2 months since 90% of the cancer was removed from his right leg. As of March 4th, 2025 Benny is on phase 2 of his life battling against cancer.
Today is the third day of radiation treatment. This procedure is costing me $11,000 😲 He has 14 more sessions to go. We hope to crush his cancer.
The practice will monitor for any negative effects otherwise his treatment ends on March 28th.
I'll be spending my mornings here in Yonkers for Benny to get his treatment! After his treatment he's allowed to eat, I'll feed him and walk him before I drop him off home and then go to work. (Thanks to all my clients for your patience)
If I've been silent on Instagram or infrequent it's because I've been working hard to procure money for Benny's fight against cancer.
The last 3 months have been long and hard days, but I would do anything to make sure my pets get the attention needed.
Here are some recent pics of Benny and some of his brother Tibby. Recently a lot of the snow has been washed away with heavy rain. You can see where the cancer incision has nicely healed and his fur has grown back.
Thank you Dr Kari Rosen for looking after my boy! Thank you all for your support, prayers, love and good vibes..
Love
Ray and Benny

πŸ™ Thank you all for your love and support and well wishes πŸ™
Benny's Progress Report:
* Benny is coming along and making a good recovery!
* On his 2nd night we barely slept: I couldn't tell if he was in pain, hungry, thirsty or need to go to the bathroom. I had to quickly solve and figure out what he was communicating and attend to his need.
* Yesterday we made our way back to vet and to check his bandage and surgery. They removed his bandage 🩹 and said he making a good recovery and continue following his post opt protocols.
* I've taken time off the trails and spending it with Benny to ensure his recovery is successful.
* Don't need Benny falling, tripping, stressed or licking his wounds and making sure he goes to the bathroom as needed.
Again thanks for all the love ❀️ Your good vibes has reached my boy and he appreciates your support

Thank you everyone for the positive vibes, get well soon, speedy recovery, thoughts and prayers!
Your outreach and support has worked a miracle throughout his surgery.
NVS called me at 5:17 p.m. to let me know they're going to operate and at 6:45 Dr Weissman called letting me know that his operation went well. She was able to remove 90% of his tumor. She mentioned it was wrapped around his nerve and I'm sure that was causing him to limp and feel pain.
He will have two more follow-ups after this operation. Our goal is to have radiation chemotherapy to obliterate the last 10% of cancer remaining in his leg. That's out next step towards recovery.
Thank you Dr Weissman and your team for giving my pup the best care during this difficult time. The procedure was costly but worth giving my dog an opportunity to regain quality of life and health.
Over the next few days he has to be sedate and cannot use stairs. I don't mind carrying him up and down stairs. And of course when I'm not watching him he has to wear his cone.
Thanks again

Benny is scheduled for surgery today .
He has cancer on his right forearm, spindle cell carcinoma (grade one), but the problem is it is growing along his leg and muscles and tendons which has caused him to limp and tricky to remove.
I noticed Benny had a slight limp this summer. At that point in time there was nothing that I could do since he was recovering from severe pancreatitis. His liver counts for off the charts and we really thought he was in the pass in May or June. He fought his liver condition and made it through.
By September when his blood counts started to level off and head towards normal again, I began to get Benny treated for his limp.
We did everything from laser light therapy, adequan shots and librella. Nothing helped! I had our vet look take a closer look in November and suspicioun was cancer. December was his biopsy and had to wait for results and cancer was confirmed.
Thank you for your help and referring NBS. Although I know Benny will be in great hands it's always tough leaving pets at the Vet for big procedures. Since Benny is a true rescue dog I personally took off the streets, I wonder if he feels abandoned Everytime I leave him behind at the Vet. Since dogs can't tell time, I'm sure the wait seems long and dreadful.
Anyhow, I wanted to share my experience. Most importantly if your dog develops a limp and you get it treated and doesn't go away please please please have it checked out immediately. From experience I've seen these limps become cancerous.
Please send my best friend Benny best wishes and a speaker recovery and that the doctor is able to remove most and all of his ailments.

Flash Back Friday November 2010!
Insane how the years go by so fast! This popped up on my Facebook and I rarely go on facebook, if I do, it's just to wish someone a happy birthday.
Anyhow here's a young Tibby and I pose making duck lips πŸ‘„ πŸ˜‚. At that point of his life he was able to do three hikes a day, easily covering over 12 miles and not get tired 😩
Do you have any pictures from 2010 let's all share our pictures from 14 years ago.
Have a great weekend everyone!
