As we approach the 2024 General Fi****ms Season for deer this Friday, November 15, we want to remind hunters that shotguns, muzzleloaders, handguns, straight-walled pistol-caliber rifles, and archery equipment may be used during the general firearm season.

Hunters looking for opportunities to harvest deer on public land should visit:
https://dnrec.delaware.gov/fish-wildlife/wildlife-areas/
for information about state wildlife areas, including maps and specific wildlife area rules. In addition, hunters can also find links to other state and federal-managed lands and opportunities.

Hunter Orange:
All hunters must wear at least 400 square inches of hunter orange material and it must be displayed on the head, chest and back.

Please keep in mind that our Delaware Hunters Against Hunger Program is available to hunters that wish to donate their harvest. Delaware’s deer hunters share part of their harvest each year with Delawareans in need and provide thousands of pounds of venison through the program. Just a friendly reminder. Please DO NOT leave your cape at the butcher any longer than you have to. Replacement capes aren't cheap. The longer they stay in the walk-in cooler the more likely you are going to have issues.
