A few fur babies!

I thought since occasionally I have fur mommy & daddy’s worry about when they leave their furry children 😁They sometimes think they are scared or stressed when they leave them. I just wanted to give a little inside look at how they really act 😍

I'm so grateful to have so much help, now I can take time to post a few things I always wanted to help owners with. My number one question I get all the time is how, why and what to do about matted fur....

The number one thing you can do to prevent matting is regular and thorough brushing and combing. The most common mistake made when brushing is only getting the top layer, and this can even make it worse. You always want to brush all the way to the skin. Also, bathing your dog at home and not brushing them out and drying them completely. *Using a firm slicker brush with a leave in conditioner spray regularly can keep your fur baby mat free! Try CHI detangling finishing spray!! We love it! Plus you can get it at Petsmart

Mats can also form under your dog's collar, harness and the worse... sweaters!! Rolled leather collars are a good choice to prevent this. But also, when you are not walking your dog, taking the harness off will help tremendously. Sweaters are very cute and help the little ones with the cold weather but when inside you should try to take them off and immediately brush them. Especially if they have a curly or thin longer type hair. ( Poodles, Doodles, Bichon's, Schnauzer's and so on.....

If your fur baby gets mats try not to cut them out. This can be dangerous if they are tight to the skin. You can very easily cut them if you don't know how to get them out properly. Call your groomer and see if you can set up a mini groom to get the mats out before they get worse. If it's a looser mat forming you can easily spray the area with leave in conditioner and brush out.

We always want to make your fur baby look and feel their best! If they come in with severe mats we never want to have to shave them. But unfortunately sometimes that is the only option. So routine brushing at home is so important with certain breeds.
