My horse obsession began at age two as I remember dreaming of having horses in my back yard, and riding around the neighborhood. When I turned ten years old, I moved to Oregon, where my cousin owned a 3-Day-Eventing barn. Twice a week I got to clean stalls, groom, and exercise horses for the privilege of riding lessons. Here I was introduced to the US Pony Club and became a member. As I reflect ba
ck on this experience, it is the best program for teaching youth about how to own, care for, and ride a horse properly with skill and knowledge. I bought my first horse off the race track for $500 at age 18. It was quite terrifying at times, but my Pony Club background saved me. We competed in hunter/jumper events, cross country jumping, and dressage. I was introduced to the sport of endurance in 1995. It was a natural fit since my favorite past time was riding on trail as fast & far as my horse could. My first event was 25 miles long in my jumping saddle. The thought of riding 100 miles seemed impossible, but I was hooked, and have since logged thousands of endurance miles. I went on to host 50 & 100 mile horse events including the National Championship, North American Endurance Championships, and as a board member on the Western States Trail Foundation. Many years later I was hired to run the mounted patrol unit at the State Capitol. I became a certified law enforcement mounted patrol instructor specializing in sensory, desensitization, and obstacle training for horses and officers. I participated in numerous protests, riots, and community relations events. With my background I was able to combine and formulate an incredibly effective cream to treat and/or prevent scratches, and help heal wounds on my horses. I’ve even used it on myself with rub marks, bites, scratches, irritations. It works so well, I’ve since decided to sell it for those who have dealt with similar horse ailments.
