Phoenix and her dad Peeve had a marvelous weekend here in Indianapolis for the CISSC agility trial! I was very happy with how they both did this weekend after I was gone for the whole week out of town, but they both love the game! Phoenix earned her excellent jumpers title Saturday, and ran her first masters course Sunday. She earned herself first place by 4 seconds in a talented group of dogs, and earned herself 16 MACH points! Peeve had a wonderful weekend, earning a QQ, his MXP title, and 74 PACH points. I’ve attached videos in the comments of Phoenix and Peeve’s masters runs on the same course. I couldn’t have asked for better partners!🐾

I realized I haven’t posted any updates in a while, we’ve been having a lot of fun lately!

I have been counting my blessings that our 11 year old man Peeve is still enjoying his courses and still enjoying agility at his age. He is still doing a marvelous job and we are always told he doesn’t look or act 11. I am also blessed to be running his daughter Phoenix alongside him, and she reminds me so much of Peeve at a young age. She is brilliant and biddable, making her a wonderful partner. She is already in the excellent agility classes, and is on track to earn her excellent titles in standard and jumpers soon, but we are enjoying traveling and having fun together. Vida is coming along nicely and is still learning her foundations in agility, so she has been enjoying a local barn hunt club’s trials with Phoenix. I’ve been asked if we are doing coursing tests, but we are waiting for some cooler weather. We will be at the autumn harvest cluster dog show in Lebanon in September, so feel free to come say hi, and try out some different sports!

It’s crazy to think I’ve only been back in dog sports for a year now after so much time off, and these pups are loving every second of it with me. I couldn’t have asked for better partners❤️🐾

Phoenix had a nearly clean sweep weekend at the Boston Terrier Club of Greater Cincinnati in Sharonville, Ohio this weekend! She earned her novice standard and novice jumpers titles! This girl is always giving 110% when she is working, and I couldn’t be prouder of her and her wonderful personality❤️🐦‍🔥

Happy 11th Birthday to our best old man Peeve! My first sporting Cavalier who showed me the ropes in dog sports, I am forever grateful for this little healthy guy! With his age I moved him down to jumping 8” preferred instead of 12” regular, but he’s still flying high and running fast💙

Last evening we said goodbye to our whole reason for doing what we do for Cavaliers. Echo went to lectures on the importance of health testing dogs before breeding, was a therapy dog for veterans, and has been apart of our lives for 13.5 years. We knew we would be on borrowed time with all of her health conditions, and we are thankful she is no longer in pain. This is the first time in forever I do not have her to lick away the tears running down my face, but we will continue to advocate for stricter health testing for Cavaliers in remembrance of our sweet Echo Louise❤️🌈

Thank you to all the veterinarians and specialists who have helped us give Echo the life she so deserved. Thank you to all our friends and family who have helped us take care of Echo and her needs. Thank you to many of you who have helped us celebrate many of Echo’s beloved birthdays through the years❤️

Listening to you take your last breath as I held you in my arms is something I knew would happen, but I still was not prepared for since we brought you home so many years ago.

Sometimes a special loved one comes into our lives, stay for a bit and then they have to go. It is sad, but the bit they were here was happy and wonderful, and maybe that makes it all worth it. If I could do something to make you stay with me forever, I would. The final act of love to give you is a peaceful goodbye in my arms. To find the rainbow bridge where I will see you again someday.

They say that someone is never truly gone until you stop remembering them. When you left this earth, a great part of you went missing, but I know you left some of yourself behind for me to find. In the summer I will see you in the pale yellow butterflies adorning our hayfields you so eagerly chased. In the fall I will see you dancing in the flames of the bonfires you loved to sit with me to enjoy. In the winter I will see you in the electric blanket you always curled up with me on. In the spring I will see you in the delicate flower shoots you so eagerly chomped on.

I hope if the multiverse is real, every version of me is lucky enough to be loved by you.

To my dear friend who has been with me for over half of my life, I cannot wait to see you on that rainbow bridge. Wait for me and I’ll meet you there soon my sweet Echo Louise🌈

We are excited to announce that our Peeve earned the #10 spot for BadDogAgility’s PowerScore for 8” preferred Cavaliers in 2023! For a 10 year old who took a 5 year hiatus (we started running again in June 2023) while I was not doing dog sports, I am incredibly blessed to have such an amazing running partner with Peeve - and huge shoutout to everyone who talked me into getting back into sporting events with my dogs I couldn’t be more blessed to have such an amazing support system!

Even better to know his daughter Phoenix made it to the #8 spot for Cavaliers in AKC FastCAT with a running average of 21.92 mph. She is currently training in agility as well and loves it!

I forgot to give a little shoutout to our little Vida who passed her AKC Canine Good Citizen and Novice Trick Dog tests for her first titles! She is not only cute but incredibly smart too! 💜

Happy HOWL-oween! 🎃

Phoenix earned her DCAT this weekend at the last trial (in Indiana) of the year, with a new running average of 21.92 mph, keeping her in the #6 spot on the AKC FCAT Top 20 by breed! With only 2 months of trialing and her doing so well, we look forward to seeing how she does next year!

Phoenix had a wonderful weekend at her second AKC FCAT trial! We were excited to see her ranking in the number 9 spot for Cavaliers from her first trial, and her new average speed is 21.81 mph with the trial at K9 Splash Zone in Ohio! Huge shoutout to the Fort St.Clair Kennel Club for a wonderful trial atmosphere and beautiful ribbon for Phoenix’s BCAT title!

This weekend we welcomed a lovely little black and tan girl into our family from the wonderful Liz with Buddington Cavaliers! She is a wonderful little girl, and we look forward to seeing what her future holds!

Peeve earned his Agility MX title this weekend, and with his age we decided to move him to preferred on Sunday to run at 8” so he can enjoy this sport in his older age. He decided to kickstart his preferred career with a nice QQ and matching first place ribbons. What a great little guy!💙

We are pleased to announce that our little foster pup has gone to her fur-ever home! I know we had a lot of interest, and this sweet girl was paired with the perfect home to give her a long and wonderful life. Bella Mae has become an honorary Copeland Cavalier, and we look forward to seeing her grow up with her new family❤️

I know I’ve received a few messages regarding little Miss Mae I took in yesterday. She was given a new name to start up a new life. As of right now I’m digging into more of her history through The Cavalier Rescue’s network since we found a microchip. Once she is spayed and I get a good feel for her temperament we will begin the rehoming process.

If you are interested in Mae, please email me at [email protected] and I will send out questionnaires and do some home visits to make sure she makes it into the right family for her once she is ready to go.

For now she is relaxing and getting to know everyone. She is perfect on leash, and crated in the car and home. And treats? She loves treats!💖

As a few of you may have heard, I was called 2 days ago that someone was needing to rehome a 3 year old female Cavalier in northern Indiana. I picked up this sweet girl yesterday, and I was able to get her into a clinic for vaccinations and much needed preventative medicine.

I want to thank her family for entrusting me to take her in for necessary medical care and rehoming process. Thankfully this little girl has a clear heart, and will go in for a recheck here in a week and a half. She is not one of my Cavaliers, however I am here for any Cavalier in need to find their perfect forever home!

I will begin formal training with her while we take in more of her history, and hopefully within the month begin her rehoming process to find her forever home!

Happy 7th Birthday to our sweet Sophie❤️
As most know , Sophie became part of our family when her owner fell and had to move into a nursing home. She is not one of our pups, however we couldn’t say no to her sweet smile! Sophie gets to visit the nursing home to see her and she enjoys spending her days playing with our pack

Happy 10th Birthday to Peeve! Double digits have not slowed down our boy, and his birthday gift is getting back into agility next month! My novice A dog who has taught us all so much and has been a blessing to our lives. He is spending the day being pampered with a spaw day, pup cup run, birthday cookies, and running through some little agility courses in the back yard! We hope to have many many more years with our special guy! 🎈🎉🎂

And to everyone wondering, he is still OFA cleared for his eyes, patellae, hips and heart!
