Great information to share for those who may not be aware!

**Holiday Plants Can Be Hazardous for Pets!** 🌟🐾

The holiday season is filled with festive décor, including beautiful plants that brighten our homes. But did you know some of these beloved plants can be dangerous—even toxic—to pets?

❌ **Poinsettias**: While mildly toxic, these iconic holiday plants can cause irritation to the mouth and stomach, leading to drooling or vomiting if chewed or ingested.

❌ **Mistletoe**: Romantic for humans, but a hazard for pets. Mistletoe can lead to gastrointestinal upset and, in severe cases, difficulty breathing, low blood pressure, or seizures.

❌ **Lilies**: Even a small nibble of a lily can be life-threatening for cats, leading to kidney failure. They’re best kept out of homes with feline friends.

❌ **Holly & Ivy**: Holly berries and ivy leaves are known to cause vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal pain in pets if ingested.

❌ **Christmas Tree Water**: Often treated with preservatives or containing stagnant water, it can be harmful to pets who sneak a sip.

Keep your furry family members safe by placing plants out of reach, supervising curious noses, and opting for pet-safe alternatives. If your pet gets into a dangerous plant, call us or the Pet Poison Helpline immediately.

Let’s make this holiday season joyful and safe for everyone! ❤️🎄🐕🐈

This holiday season, let's ensure our homes are merry and safe for everyone, including our animals! While decking the halls, it's important to be mindful of holiday plants that might pose a risk to our pets. Some festive plants can be harmful if ingested by our curious companions. 🎄

⚠️ Avoid potential hazards by keeping these plants out of reach:
- Mistletoe
- Holly
- Poinsettias
- Christmas tree pine needles
- Amaryllis
- Lilies

These plants, when nibbled on by our pets, could cause discomfort, illness, or even more severe issues. In case of any accidental ingestion or concerns about your pet's health, be sure to contact the ☠️ Pet Poison Helpline at 855-764-7661 or the ASPCA Poison Control Center 888-426-4435.

Let's make this season joyous and safe for every member of our family, furry ones included! Spread the word and keep those holiday plants in safe places!

**🎉 Don’t Forget the P**p! 🐾💩**

We know it might seem a bit odd to show up for an appointment carrying a tiny container of...well, p**p. But that little sample is packed with BIG information about your pet’s health!

From uncovering pesky parasites 🪱 to identifying underlying digestive issues, a stool sample helps us make sure your fur baby is healthy from the inside out. Whether it’s a routine check-up or they’re feeling under the weather, this “treasure” gives us crucial clues to keep their tail wagging and purrs coming.

So next time you’re headed our way, bag it up and bring it along. It’s like bringing us a mystery novel, and we LOVE solving the case! 📚🔍

Got questions about how to collect or store it? Give us a call or shoot us a text — we are here to help!

Our exceptional staff is the heart and soul of FurWell, and their dedication shines every day. We're so grateful for their hard work, and this was just a small way to say *thank you!* 💖

Thank you for understanding as we paused a bit of our work day to celebrate our incredible team. 🐾🎄

BIG ANNOUNCEMENT!
THE FURWELL FAMILY TEAM IS GROWING!

We’re beyond thrilled to welcome Dr. Mary Tricia White as a full-time veterinarian at FurWell Veterinary Hospital!

Dr. White’s journey in veterinary medicine began at the age of three when she received her first kitten and knew she was destined to care for animals. By age 14, she was already working her first job in a small-town veterinary clinic, helping launch the practice from the ground up. As a dedicated kennel assistant and all-around helper, she assisted in surgeries, answered phones, and even helped pull calves late at night.

Dr. White earned her bachelor’s degree in Ecology from the University of Georgia while continuing her hands-on work in veterinary offices. She pursued her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine on St. Kitts Island, completing her final year at Ohio State University and graduating in 2008. With 34 years of experience, her areas of interest span internal medicine and chronic disease management, with a focus on feline veterinary medicine and fostering the human-animal bond.

In 2020, Dr. White relocated to Upstate South Carolina with her two adventurous daughters, now 11 and 12. At home, she shares her life with her three cats—Huckleberry, Ru Pawl, and Eminem—and her dog, Miss Betty. Outside of work, she enjoys chasing live music and exploring new trails, especially those with waterfalls, with her daughters (when she can pull them away from their PlayStation). 😉

Dr. White is excited to bring her passion and wealth of experience to the FurWell family and looks forward to building lasting relationships with our amazing pet parents and their beloved pets.

Please join us in giving a warm welcome to Dr. Mary Tricia White! 🙌❤️🐾

Thanksgiving is a busy time in the kitchen as you prepare a delicious meal for your family. While your pet might be begging or scavenging for dropped treats, it’s important to keep them away from the common foods listed below. These can be toxic for your pet and you might end up at an urgent clinic worried about your pet instead of enjoying the time with your loved ones.

If your pet ingests anything over the long holiday weekend while we are closed and you need help, we highly recommend you reach out to ReadyVets Veterinary Care at 5314 Wade Hampton Blvd in Taylors.

We hope you all have a safe, warm, and wonderful Thanksgiving.

📢Proudly introducing our wonderful Pet Parent Advocate, Michelle Schriefer! 🐾❤️🤩

Michelle recently joined our team after the closure of Hudson Road Animal Hospital, and brings over 20 years of reception experience from the ER and specialty veterinary care field.

She lives in Greer with her husband, two kids, and their beloved Cane Corso, Rasmus.

Michelle treasures family time, often spent traveling or at the tennis courts with her loved ones. During Michelle's time in emergency and specialty veterinary care, she had the privilege of collaborating with talented doctors, nurses, and staff. While she valued the fast-paced environment and the opportunity to meet incredible people, Michelle longed for a more personal connection with pet parents and their pets, which the ER setting did not allow. This desire to build lasting relationships and see the progress of pets post-treatment led her to leave the corporate culture and join FurWell, where she could truly focus on strengthening the bond between families and their animals.

Michelle finds great joy in helping people in any way she can. She is passionate about making others smile and cherishes the special connections she forms with clients and their pets.

Beyond her role at FurWell, Michelle is an avid reader with a particular interest in entomology and toxicology, especially phytotoxicology. She’s a devoted plant lover, with a special fondness for big-leafed greenery.

Grateful for the relationships she’s built over the years, Michelle feels incredibly lucky to be part of the veterinary community. She sees it as a blessing to help families care for their pets and to be a part of their journey.

Please join us in officially welcoming Michelle to the FurWell team! She is an absolute ray of sunshine and we are thrilled to have her working with us. ❤️🐾❤️🤗😊

🐾 This is Anna, our very own cat whisperer at FurWell Veterinary Hospital! 🐱✨

On Monday, Anna had the pleasure of spending some quality time with the cutest 11-week-old kitten, Cat Vader. 😻 This little guy just received his kitten vaccines and couldn’t resist peeking over Anna's shoulder, making the moment even more adorable!

Anna’s gentle touch and love for cats make her the perfect person to care for our furry friends, especially the shy or nervous ones. It’s no surprise that Cat Vader felt so comfortable in her arms – she truly has a gift!

Anna always makes office visits a little less stressful and a whole lot more heartwarming! ❤️

🌟 **FurWell Clinic Cuties of the Week!** 🌟

This week, we’ve had the pleasure of caring for some truly precious pets, and we’re excited to share some of their adorable faces with you! Our team is so grateful to be part of their journey and to see their personalities shine during each visit. Here are a few of the sweet faces we’ve had the privilege of caring for:

🐾 One little kitten brought loads of energy and cuteness to the clinic this week! With their curious nature and endless playfulness, it’s hard not to smile when they’re around.

🐾 A brave pup came in for continued care, and we couldn’t be happier to see them feeling more comfortable during their visits. Their sweet demeanor makes them a favorite of our team.

🐾 A special patient returned for their continued integrative care with acupuncture and laser therapy, and we’re thrilled to see the progress they’ve made. It’s always a joy to witness the positive impact of our integrative treatments.

These precious pets are just a few of the reasons why we love what we do at FurWell. We’re honored to care for them and be part of their health journey. ❤️

Martha’s story is a powerful reminder of the difference that quality vet care—and a loving family—can make in a pet’s life.

We’re so grateful to be a part of her journey! 💚

Martha Washington saw Dr Simpson yesterday. As you know we rescued Martha 2 years-ago. She was covered in cancer and other ailments. 2-3 months was the prognosis.

We were told not to waste our money on surgery. We disagreed we wasted the money twice and she is still kicking it living her best life!!!

She has tiny little tumors sprouting up again! Dr Simpson is confident we can get them removed with ease as most appear to not be attached to the muscles. Best case scenario is that they are benign.

We are waiting for Furwell to send us a quote and we shall build a fundraiser for Martha!!!

Her great life is the direct result of good vetting and the incredibly amazing foster mom Rebekah!!!

Never give up on your pets! They will forever amaze us with their resilience!!!!!
