A roll in the grass is an excellent follow up to a nice swim in the pond.
What it's like to be the treat. 😁
Look who came to visit. It's Hazel!! This is her first swim. Nothing like diving in head first and totally loving it! More pictures in comments.
Back to the litter updates. I'll be doing one a day.
This is the gorgeous Ruby, who was a gem from the start. Clearly this was taken shortly after her arrival home. She lives with Lucy, a half-sister from a previous Ambergait litter. As a breeder, it's always wonderful when a family comes back and I was lucky enough to have 2 puppies going to homes who already had an Ambergait baby. Lucy loves her little sister!
Eating green apples in the rain. Why?
Update on red boy.
Here's Koda, who lives in upstate NY. He's growing like a weed and bonding well with his sister, who is also an Ambergait Leo. It's so great for a breeder when a family comes back for a puppy because you feel like you're doing it right and you know your puppy is going to be in the best home. Koda is fitting right in and doing great!
The babies are loving this cooler weather.
Not a good video, but a fun one. Just playing with the pups.
It gets better. 😆 Oh, Hazel.
A little snack of apples and peanut butter. It was a hit.
It's too hot for practice leash walking or going in the car, so I brought out frozen strawberries and blueberrries. They were a big hit!
How do Leonbergers feel about heat?
Off for our morning walk! Then they'll go home, have a snack, and sleep for a couple hours. It'll be great! Later, they'll be having the fruit pops I just stuck in the freezer. 😊 There's another video in the comments.
Breeders love that 5 - 7 week stage. You have puppies that are interactive, sweet, and cuddly. Then, one fateful day, you kiss them goodnight and the next morning you wake up to this and nothing is the same. They bite the back of your legs as you're walking through their pen. They bite your back, arms, hair, anything they can get their teeth into, if you try to sit with them. They are happy little sharks, thrilled to make holes in everything they can. Good thing they're cute. And yes, my slippers are different colors. I stepped in a puddle (of water, thank goodness) in one.
