NOTICE ABOUT WILDLIFE AFFECTED IN THE STORMS (PLEASE SHARE): We have had a deluge of animals coming in the doors and phone calls tonight. We have to close our doors at 9:00 to make sure the animals get the care they need. We will open early tomorrow, at 8:00 a.m. for any animals needing care. In the meantime, for any baby animal found on the ground, particularly birds, bunnies, and baby squirrels, please put them in a cardboard box lined with a towel, and put the box on a heating pad set on low, so that they can get warm and dry. Put them in a box in a dark, quiet place and keep them away from people and pets, and do not give them any food or fluids. Tomorrow morning we are going to ask people to try to reunite baby squirrels with their mothers and potentially put baby bunnies back in their nest if the nest is not flooded. If your baby animal is injured or the bunny nest remains flooded, please bring the animals to us tomorrow morning. If baby squirrels are uninjured or bunnies can be returned to their nests in the morning, please leave us a message at 402-234-2473 and we will call you back in the morning with detailed instructions. Thank you so much for sharing this message and we hope that you all are safe after the storms!

We had a little excitement this afternoon! Our Hospital Administrator Michelle was going outside to get the mail when a ground squirrel ran into the clinic behind her! It ran into our back food storage room and hid until Michelle and Vet Tech Taylor were able to make a path and escort it back outside to freedom!😂
