MILO IS LOOKING FOR A HOME!!!!

We have an 11 month old German Shepherd that was surrendered to us in October. He had mange but he is doing a lot better now, has grown most of his hair back, and has since tested negative for mange now. He is very sweet and loves to play and has not shown any aggression toward other animals. He is also fully vaccinated and we have all of his records. Please let us know if you are interested in him or if you know anyone that would be interested in him. Please contact us for more information if needed. PLEASE READ FOR EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES!!!

In the past month we have had several severe parvo cases in the hospital. We would like to remind owners how important it is to make sure you are keeping your babies, that are not fully vaccinated, safe. Puppies are most susceptible to parvo between 6 weeks and 6 months. We recommend not taking your babies to public areas (dog parks, pet stores, and neighborhood parks) before they have had all of their vaccinations. Dr. Heath also recommends that a licensed veterinarian administer each of the puppy vaccinations, due to their incredible importance and for the safety of your puppy.

Parvo is a virus that attacks white blood cells, the villi of the small intestines, and can even damage the heart muscle in puppies. Some common symptoms are: vomiting, bloody diarrhea, lethargy, loss of appetite, and fever. If your puppy is experiencing any of these symptoms and they are not fully vaccinated, we recommend taking them to the vet ASAP.

A visit to get your puppy vaccinated will probably cost you around $100, but a hospital stay to treat parvo can easily cost between $2000-$3000, when every available treatment is given around the clock, to save your young fur baby’s life. In order to offset any of the costs related to medical care for your pet for the entirety of his/her life; we highly recommend pet insurance.

Getting your puppy vaccinated is the best way to ensure that you are giving him/her the very best start in life.
