Large, straight backed, big head and bone, calmer temper, Protective but not so much you have to put them away when the neighbors come over.? I have been breeding this type of German shepherd now for more then 30 years. I am one of the very few old - fashioned shepherd breeders who OFA certify and DM test all parents dogs. . I offer a full three year all genetic disease written guarantee. All pupp

ies are well socialized and raised in the home with family. Anyone is welcome to come and visit to see well trained parent dogs , that are large & regal and worth the trip, these are not just kennel dogs. Look at the rest then come and buy the best!

EmBark testing:) embark testing is now available and a wonderful tool for genetic testing and helpful in eliminating disease, Most good breeders now embark test...Embark tests for over 190 different genetic disease in dogs and Markers that are helpful even helpful for vets to look at for example and ALT marker will actually test at lower liver levels but it is normal for that dog.. testing positive for DM (degenerative myopathy ) or something like having the Mdr1 gene or Scott's disease (which I didn't even know about ! )can be extremely helpful to diagnose symptoms ect...as well as making sure your not breeding either gene ! It also tests traits, I can tell people what colors I will have in a litter, weather I will have long coats ect.... Further it helps me see COI co- efficient inbreeding to make sure I am not line breeding to much ect... as it does not look at the pedigree but actual DNA.. For instance. I found a wonderful import lined German shepherd breeder and the male and a female both imported) that had a pedigree's that showed a solid 6 generations no inbreeding-- I convinced her to embark text before I would buy a pup .. as the male had DM carrier (according to the germans dm is not a thing Lol) and I wanted a clear pup so I would know what to test for puppies for and how many test I have to send in to get a clear pup.. I was shocked when a supposable import German line with no inbreeding in the pedigree came back 37 % COI (meaning 37 % carried same dogs ! the female was 36 % with no lines alike and the pup I got from breeding the two again no lines the same according to the pedigree was 32% ! sooo pedigrees were clearly falsified as DNA cannot be cheated on .... I often have line breeding on duke and saber in third and fourth generations as it shows on the pedigree but the COI's I get back are normally between 20 - 30 % ! which is common for the German shepherd breed (many breeds are indeed much higher like the Goldens , labs and Dobys and Rotty's ect.. anyway the German lined breeders are always discing us old style breeders and American breeders in general that German lines are so much better because of no inbreeding ?? really ? Hmmmm.... not according to the DNA ! SO anyway I digress embark is very helpful..and I would suggest staying with breeders who embark tests at it is helpful in so many different ways ..for instance with Alita she is 32 % COI , but breeding her to Gabe at 30 % COI will produce puppies that are less then 20 % COI because they do not share a lineage.. so very helpful.. on who to cross with who... That being said it is better to breed embark clear dogs rather then just looking at COI too...

makes me happy, letter like this :
We're so happy with our pup! Maybe I miss sleeping through the night a little, but he's a perfect pup and so worth a few hours missed sleep!

He's eating well, drinking well, peeing and pooping well and just a picture of puppy health. Today i had my son pet him and even play soccer with him while i tried the vacuum in the same room and he did great! I also sat with him in my lap in my goat barn. So we're getting a good start on socializing.

I just love his temperament and can tell he's smart, too!

Thanks for being an awesome breeder!

Pen- Hip rating's explanation from what I have observed and been told .. Pen hip is a Hip -evaluation based on joint laxity and hip conformation like OFA differences is Pen hip evaluators are specifially trained and tested only those vets may qualify to do Pen hip.. where as any vet can do OFA ..OFA is one X-ray in a certain configuration . Pen -hip has three different views..it is also based on measurements, where as OFA is based on opinion of three vets with majority winning the view. those vets change every 6 months so often the rating changes with that. (have literally gotten a not passing to an OFA good from the same dog 6 months later.. so it is very subjective.. so in comparison to OFA scores since in pen hip there is not an opinion to what is passing or not... Generally pen hip evals of .20 to .30 is excellent equivalent... rating from .30 to .40 if good equivalent.... .40 to 50.. is fair equivalent. where as .50 or higher seldom if ever is a passing equivalent. Pen hip does not do elbows at all so if elbows are done it must be OFA but is also subject to those same opinions.. there is only passing or not on elbows generally I have found G-1 and G-2 is minor and never seems to show problems past growing pain stage and tend to heal or fuse after growing G-3 can be crippling later in age in some dogs.. but not all some are not effected at all... In my opinion surgeries on elbows by vets are way over done and 90 % of the time are not needed at all and your just lining the pockets of orthopedic vets who never even were a thing 15 years ago.(dogs elbows are not fused at all as pups- so even jumping of the couch wrong can cause an elbow not to fuse perfectly..)..because after initial growing pains and the elbows fuse completely normally by 2 years of age and "stable up" the dog shows no more signs of pain... Hope this explanation helps... and as always if in ain't broke , don't fix it.. when it comes to dogs nothing can be better advise..
