******* UPDATE ******* (heifer is now sold)
This little heifer will be up for discussion. I am going a different direction with my herd and she will just be way too small in my breeding program. Here are the details:
• Located in Texas
• Dam is a mini/mid Jersey and sire a Red Aberdeen
• She is a year old currently
• 37" at the hook, so she should grow to be around 42" to 43" at 3 years of age based on the mini cow growth chart
• Brindled color
• Born with light blue eyes that are a very dark blue now
• Polled
• She has a 50% chance of being A2A2 as sire was A2A2 and dam was A2A1
• She comes from a closed herd and her dam was sold earlier this year and was disease tested and tested negative for BLV, BVD, Johnes, and TB
• Dam was 45" @ 3 years and her daughter is expected to be around that, if not a little shorter
• Grass-fed and organic fed only as we do not use pesticides on our land (the only thing that comes close would be our use of Cydectin, which we only use for deworming and we put treated cattle on an isolated pasture - Cydectin is the only commercial dewormer that does not harm dung beetles)
• Her sire is ranked as the number one marbling sire in the Aberdeen breed
• Her dam has an excellent udder and her paternal granddam does as well
• Buyer will either have to pick her up themselves or will have to use a transporter - if you do not have a transporter and need one, then I can provide you with some contacts
• If you are an out-of-state buyer and require a state health certificate, then I require an additional $250 within 7 days of your initial deposit to cover Vet services, my time and gas in transporting heifer to and from the Vet for a state certification and the actual certificate itself - once I have the heifer Vet inspected then the buyer has only 30 days inwhich to have her picked up
• Deposit to hold heifer is $100 and is non-refundable (I do accept PayPal)
• I will make sure the heifer is wormed right before transportation as well
• If you want disease testing even though we keep a closed herd and her dam was sold late February tested negative for all, but you still feel it necessary....it will be an additional $250 for testing for BLV, BVD, Johnes and TB. The testing requires 2 Vet trips to complete and is done in partnership with Texas A&M
