This beautiful team is Rosie and her Husky, Lana. Rosie works at Gemini Dogs in Littleton and loves Dr. Garrett’s dogs like her own every day while they are at daycare. Tragically, Rosie lost everything in a devastating house fire in Ayer early the other morning. Thankfully, Rosie and Lana were able to make it out safely, but they lost everything else. Donations of women’s clothes (Med/Lg tops/bottoms, shoe size 8-8.5), household goods, and monetary/gift card donations can be dropped off directly at Gemini Dogs in Littleton, MA. If you’d prefer to donate directly, Rosie does have a Venmo account (RosieJo_). If you are unable to donate, please send all of the good thoughts/vibes to Rosie and Lana as they begin to navigate this unthinkable tragedy.

Y’all- There is a real crisis happening in veterinary medicine right now. Veterinarians and auxillary staff members are leaving this profession at higher rates than ever before. Why you might ask? Because of people like this…So please, before you get a pet, understand that it costs money to care for them. Sometimes, it unfortunately costs a lot of money to care for your pet. Pretty please be kind to those who care for your furry family members. The abuse (cyber, in person, and in this case physical) has got to stop or soon there will be nobody left willing to provide care for pets. Being kind costs nothing.

Dr. Garrett has been a long time supporter of Pittie Love Rescue since the early 2000’s. They are one of the only rescues that we know of willing to take on tough cases like sweet Dante. Despite being a non-profit, Pittie Love never turns away from helping a dog who needs expensive, ongoing veterinary care. They recently agreed to help this sweet puppy who had a femoral fracture at just 14 weeks of age. If you are in a position to donate toward Dante’s ongoing medical care, it would mean a lot to this sweet puppy and to our friends at Pittie Love Rescue.

Y’all! Please! Somebody adopt this great doggo! Sammy is being fostered by one of Dr. Garrett’s clients in MA. Sammy is a young all american dog from the southern US (hound/lab type mix) who wouod love an active family! Sammy LOVES other dogs and currently is living in his foster home with two Labs and two young children. Sammy’s ideal family would be active and into the outdoors. He’d like to hike in the woods, play with dog friends, and then snuggle on the couch. An application for Sammy can be found with the lovely folks at Brown Dog Rescue in Hopkinton, MA or Dr. Garrett can put you in touch with his foster mom!

ATTENTION: PLEASE READ OUR 2022 NEW YEAR’S ANNOUNCEMENT IN ITS ENTIRETY!!

As we move into the new year there will be several changes coming to the practice.

1. We are no longer accepting new clients for routine care. If you are a current routine care client who obtains a new pet, your new pet will be accepted.

2. We are only accepting new clients starting mid-late spring who are seeking acupuncture, pain management, laser services etc.

3. We will ALWAYS accept new clients for end of life services in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

4. We will no longer allow delayed billing for products or services. Unfortunately, this decision comes after some clients simply were not paying for products they had ordered or were paying 4-6 months later. Payment for services are due at the time they are provided, and products must be paid for prior to Dr. Garrett shipping them.

5. Lastly, we hope you all have a happy and healthy new year and that 2022 brings about positive change for all.

Hugo and Valentine would like to remind everyone that Bow hunting season is officially open in Massachusetts. If you’re going to be in the woods with your dogs or horses, please make sure that everyone has on something bright orange so that you are never the victim of a hunting accident. Here they are sporting their orange Insect Shield gear while also helping to prevent ticks. Happy fall y’all!!

Fromm is a food that Dr. Garrett recommends frequently as it has always been good quality without recall issues. If you feed Fromm, please check your cans at home to ensure they are not involved in this recall. Valentine wants to make sure you know that she always disapproves of recalls involving dog food.

Ever wonder what Dr. Garrett does in her free time? The most recent answer is dog shows…so many dog shows.

But, Hugo did some heavy lifting today!!! He took Best of Breed and a Group FIRST under UKC Judge Paul Bruneau. There was no love for him in the Best in Show ring today but he was a rockstar nonetheless. This event finished his UKC Championship and now we push on for the Grand. Thanks to the American Pit Bull Club of New England for hosting a great show.

Denise has cancer and now her 6 year old dog, and constant companion, Greyson, has been diagnosed with bone cancer. Denise has sacrificed everything for her own treatment options, and now needs our help to be able to help her precious pup.
